I was hoping Detroit would make their choice known over the weekend, but all info seems to say Stafford but...team might be having trouble with contract. So here goes.

1. Detroit: LT Eugene Munroe more ready to go than Smith. Culpepper still has a season or two. Moore agrees to contract after Stafford hesitates.
2. Rams: LT Jason Smith
3. Chiefs:DE/OLB Orakpo moving to 3-4 and have strengthened LB corps in off season. Dorsey should turn it around new D as the NT. May have a trade involving Tamba Hali who is not suited for 3-4 as a DE. Dcordinator is high on moving him to LB, but player may not be interested. This trade if happens could be very interesting.
4. Seattle:Crabtree
5. Browns: LB Curry many have Raji here but I'm sticking with OLB
6. Bengals: RB Moreno Tigers have a need for LB & could go Malauga but I say a possible franchise type RB puts fans in seats.
7. Raiders: WR Heyward- Bey many like Macklin but owner wants speed
8. Jags: LB Maualuga this guy answers a priority need may go Raji or Stafford see link http://www.profootballtalk.com/2009/04/01/garrard-thinks-jags-wont-draft-a-quarterback/
9. Packers: DE/OLB Everett Brown
10. 49ers: QB Stafford may be gone due to trade up when he falls then Sanchez.
11. Bills: OT Oher could move to G
12 : Broncos: DT Peria Jerry & here is where it is hard to defend not going for Raji. My thinking is team need a run stopper DT with more speed & will use Chicago pick to select either Tyson Jackson or LB.
13. Redskins: OT Andre Smith
14. Saints: LB Brian Cushing thought about CB Davis
15. Texans: DT BJ Raji

I was surprised to see Sanchez(probably drafted on a trade up by someone), Jenkins and Maclin all here. If Sanchez available, I see good trade offers coming in. Jenkins would resolve two spots and Maclin would be H-O-T opposite AJ. I like Raji over Jenkins.

11. Bills:

It kinda looks like you just wanted Raji to fall to us and then did whatever you had to do to make that happen.

Jerry would not play in the middle of a 34. He would be a DE. If Denver needed a run stopping DT with speed then they would still have to go with Raji. Jerry is a guy that would be better in a scheme where he is asked to shoot gaps. I like him as a cover 2 guy. Indy would love to have him I bet.

I don't see how Seattle would pass on Curry since they just traded Peterson.

11. Bills:

I don't think Curry fits to well in a 3-4. Also, the Bills need a LT, so they wouldn't draft one to move him.

I think Curry is the rare LB that projects well in any scheme. I think his ideal position is SAM in a 43, but I think he could play all three. I also think that in a 34 he would make a hell of an ILB.

Also, the Bills need a LT, so they wouldn't draft one to move him.

Totally agree. If you need a OT you don't take one at #11 and then move him inside.

I just started thinking and you're right. There are alot of pretty damn goot edge rushers in the later rounds, but not alot of quality MLB's. Curry would be a good pick here, since he would play Mike in a 3-4, then you can get the Barwin/English type guys in the 2nd.

I used about.com and NFL DraftScout.com to evaluate. Denver's need are listed as "Urgent:strengthen run defense. A run stuffing DT, MLB, a run stuffing DE and a run stuffing SS." Their pick was Tyson Jackson. I have Jerry rated over Jackson as a run stopping DT. Link http://football.about.com/od/teamneeds/a/teamneeds_DEN.htm He is strong and faster than Raji whom I like.

I'm not saying you did a bad job.

What I'm saying is that Perry and Jackson would play DE in Denver's 34, not DT.

Raji could play in the middle though.

There is no way that Denver passes on Raji and takes Peria Jerry. Jerry is an UT and Raji would be a NT in their system and Denver needs a NT. Actually he'll never even fall to Denver.

I was totally floored by Denver taking Jerry.... at first. I don't think they'd pass on Raji for him and I think Raji goes beforehand. However, I know you like raji and wanted him to slip to us:)

At first thought, I was like Denver and Jerry.. what!? But it actually might make some sense in the long run. Does he have potential to be a DE in a 3-4 or a 4-3 defense? I'm wondering if he would play De in their 3-4 some and then maybe DT when they run a 4-3. The bottom line is Denver CANNOT commit to a pure 3-4 scheme right now. They have Zero personnel that are great fits for that. They will probably be running a hybrid with a lot of different looks during the first year or so until they get the right personnel.

Jerry could certainly excel as a DE in a 3-4 scheme because of his pass rushing + run stopping ability, but if Raji is on the board then there is no way they take Jerry.

Curry can play any LB position. He is a beast.

Buffalo needs a RG high priority. SIgned an OT in FA and re-signed last season's starter. Link:

Play Oher wherever you want but John McLain in today's O line evaluation notes Oher may not be able to protect the QB. NFL draftscout echos

"teams are worried about inconsistency, average strength and ability to adapt." Many tackles are converted to guard.

I think Oher falling to us makes 15 a pretty tough choice. Oher would put a big nasty monster in our line, something I don't think we have. I would rather upgrade C but him at RG would be enough improvement for me.

True. But how many first round OT's are selected and immediately moved to OG? None?

If you draft a guy that high then you give him a shot at the position he played in college. If it doesn't work out, then you move him.

Who drafts a converted OG at #15 anyway when you can get a guy who has played the position for years in the second or third round?

No complaints here. I had a hard time not selecting Raji for Denver & wanted to give at least a reasonable alternative. I don't expect BJ to fall even this far, but the research sites I used have a DE going at this pick. If Raji gone, it is possible a LB will be taken and maybe a D lineman in 2nd

Exactly. Look, I take Raji 100 times over any DT for TEXANS. Now for Denver who should play a hybrid, why not Jerry? He can be moved in and out and cause confusion and havoc. I think it is a reasonable pick. See, we to often react to a post before thinking it through. I think teams spend a lot more time analysing their need than we do as Texans fans.

I believe Oher would be a better guard than anyone in later rounds. Also, how guards can also move to LT if needed. This same principle works for me in selecting CB Malcomb Jenkins and using him at FS. The guy should be able to do both.

I am not asking you to agree with my guys but just consider it. I am really surprised that no one has mentioned Maclin or Sanchez maybe there at #15.

I'm not interested in Maclin if Raji is available.

If Sanchez is there then we should definitely be fielding phone calls.

Me either but what if Raji gone, someone has traded up to get to Sanchez and Maclin is there? Kid has everything. We don't need another WR but WOW.

You just made the point right there. We don't need another WR so why use a 1st round pick on one, no matter how talented. That's what got Detroit in trouble years ago. The "most talented" player in the draft was always a WR so they took one 3 years in a row and look at them now.

Every team loves to make a splash and make a "sexy" pick early in the draft, but we don't need a WR so it would be pointless to take one.

They were reporting to night on Path to the draft that Curry is Detroit's plan "B" if the Stafford negotiations fall apart before Friday. They already have a deal in place in principle with Curry and his agents.

The only two questions about Curry are: no one knows if he can become an excellent pass rusher on the edge of a 3-4. Because he wasn't asked to do it at Wake Forrest. and...his hips are not perfect. TBS....Maualuga has no hips at all and we have folks banging for him in the first round. Perfect scenario for Curry is if he falls to ten and Singletary puts the boy into the Hall.

My understanding is Curry wants to go to Detroit and offered to sign for much less. I heard $30 million guaranteed as opposed to over $40 million for Stafford. Man, NFL needs a rookie limit.
