C.C Brown signs with Giants.

Texans strong safety C.C. Brown will visit with the Giants on Tuesday, according to Alex Marves of FOXSports.com.

Brown was a sixth-round pick in 2005, and he started 13 games as a rookie. He continued to be a full-time starter until fracturing a forearm in the third game of the 2008 season.

The Giants currently have only three safeties on the roster — Kenny Phillips, Michael Johnson, and Steve Cargile. But the team’s online depth chart currently lists no one at strong safety

James Butler, a 14-game starter in 2008, is a free-agent. He recently visited the Browns. Backup Sammy Knight was cut last month.

Does anybody even care? I didn't even knew the guy was a FA.

I'll miss him as much as I miss Jay Foreman and his amazing solo tackles stuffing the RB for 6 yard gains.

Damn, that brings back memories.

Remember how upset we all were when we lost Jeff Posey to the Bills right after midnight the first day of free agency?

It's been a long haul following this team. Let's hope this year is a winner!

I'm surprised he even played as much as he did when he was here.

That was a testament to how bare the secondary cuppboard was at the time. Hell, we didn't even have a cuppboard. We had a crooked dusty shelf and the only thing on it was C.C. Brown and an old pair of gloves that Matt Stevens forgot when he moved out. We used to be so thin that we got excited when we replaced crappy with "less crappy".

Very true. Sad, but true.

Hey I resemble that remark,

The New York Giants have addressed their gaping hole at strong safety — currently, their depth chart shows no one playing the position — by signing former Texans safety C.C. Brown.

According to Alex Marvez of FOXSports.com, Brown agreed to terms on a one-year deal.

Brown will likely replace James Butler as the starter, with 2008 first-rounder Kenny Phillips probably in line to be the starting free safety.

Brown was a sixth-round pick of the Texans in 2005. He missed most of the 2008 season with a broken forearm.

I don't think CC was as bad as some people made him out to be.

Good luck in NY tho'...

apparently Coughlin thinks more of CC than some of us did.

"Brown is a physical player who will come down to the line of scrimmage," Coach Tom Coughlin said. "He has made the calls in the secondary and can get people lined up. With the situation that we have with James Butler, there is a need to go ahead and create the competitiveness that is necessary for everyone to reach their full potential. I think adding C.C. Brown is bringing us closer to that."

You know what I say. CC stands for Can't Cover.

Well now he will be on a great defensive team, that rushes the QB as well as any team in the league. He won't be in the spotlight as much as he was here. I see him being a good player on that team, and I wish him much success there !!!
