OD... the unseen big plays he made!

Well, I'm in the middle of my DVR reviewing of the game. OD, by late 2nd quarter, has made 4 excellent blocks to free up Slaton on most of his better runs. On the first, he came across and trapped Kampman to seal the hole for the 12 yard run on the first drive. Two other times, he sealed Kampman one on one- once totally washing him out. Another time, on the 3rd and 10 conversion, he took on and drove back the LB. It's pretty awesome to see how much better he's gotten in the run game. He's going to be, and probably is, very dynamic for this offense if he's an asset like this in the run game.

He is signed on a four year contract through the 2009 season. He will then go straight to UFA unless re-signed.

IMO, it'd be ludicrous for the Texans not to lock him up long term soon. The guy's awesome and getting better every year.

Yep. Based on the move they made with Andre and Winston I'm expecting a few people on this team to get extensions soon. Ryans and OD got to be at the top of that list.

I trust Rick Smith to get these deals done. They are no-brainers unless of course one of those players wants out.

I hope we keep Dunta too, that needs to happen quickly.

It'll be interesting to see how the Organization handles Dunta this off-season. Is he currently worth the CB franchise tag? Will the team gamble by locking him up by signing him to a long term contract.

Well I'm more than 95 % sure that he did, and his input and council to Kubiak
for the 2006 Draft is well documented.

I believe Mario's contract is set up a little like Carr's. He can void the final two years of the contract if certain goals are met and then the Texans have a buy back option to get the last two years back.

Probably the worst possible scenario for making that assertion. Kubiak stated after the draft that Casserly was all over OD and that is why they picked him.

Yea that's right I'd forgotten. Many players like Ryans & OD are signed for 4
years, and then become UFA. Except of course very high picks like Mario
would represent a situation which would have diffferent terms to include longer commitment because of the size of the investment by the franchise.
