Are we going to pick up a RB this week?

Ahman will most definitely be out, and Slaton is banged up:
Green limped off the field in the 3rd quarter on Sunday, and didn't return to action. An MRI is scheduled on Monday for Green's left knee, coach Gary Kubiak revealed after the game. "Unfortunately, Ahman is down," Kubiak said. "It looks like it could be a few weeks, just talking to (head team trainer) Kevin (Bastin)."

Green described the injury after the game: "My knee went one way, my foot went the other way. I got up. I didn't feel any pain. I just felt a lot of looseness. I wasn't in pain. It was just a weird feeling when I came off the field. I've always been a fast healer. So hopefully I can get back for the Monday night game, if not the next game."
Although Slaton played a lot on Sunday, he isn't 100% healthy (bruised ribs) according to his head coach Gary Kubiak: "(Green's injury) was a big problem because Steve is beat up. Going into the game, we thought it would be more of an Ahman day. (When Green was hurt) we had a problem. We had a beat-up young back who really wasn't 100 percent. And then we had a kid (Ryan Moats) who hasn't touched the ball much, and we didn't want to put him in that situation."

Could we see the return of Dayne? Or possibly Mike Bell?

Bell is a Saint and Dayne has nor been on a field all year! Anyone want to guess what he weights now/

The Texans may want to add some depth but I dont think it will be one of the familiar names.

Labrandon Toefield would rival Dayne in weight, but he may still be able to play a bit! And I think Gado is trying to come back!

I'll probably check out Kenny Irons to see how he has progressed from his rehab or maybe Musa Smith ?

AND I bet the Jags are preparing for a lot of Rosencopter interceptions!! Sage will be forced to take to the air with our RB situation sucking so bad! NOT a good thing! My face will be in eternal pain from scrunching it up everytime he tosses the ball!! Oh the wrinkles this guy is gonna give me before the season is over!!:)

C'mon guys haven't y'all learned yet :shades: wheres the first place you would expect the Texans to look? Denver Broncos :friends:

if you check their practice squad there is one Cory Boyd, rookie from South Carolina 6004 213. downhill, zbs inside runner (where the Texans used Green) that can block, catch the ball & knows system.

Kubiak sometimes creates his own problems....

In his infinite wisdom he released D Walker and is now stuck with a (suprise) gimpy Green :crutch: , beat up Slaton, Brown on IR and a kid who hasn't touched the ball much.

Walker wasn't a world beater but he sure could help now.

He went through camp, knows the playbook, can catch out of the backfield, I don't recall him losing yardage...he but wasn't good enough for Kubiak??..:hmmm:

Guess we needed the ps spots for the two wr's and the te we have parked there??...(we only have three te's on the active roster )

Kubiak really needs to get over his "plug and play" mentality about running backs...it ain't working.

I think Walker is now on the Rams ps. Stay there Darius, you would only get screwed around more if you returned here.

I would really like to get Walker back. I never saw him do anything negative - which I don't understand his release.

Anyway, I know he is on the Rams ps - how does NFL rules work? I think that you can sign anyone from anyone's practice squad - but they have to be on the active roster for the remainder of the season if I am correct. And I think the team who has them on the practice squad has like a week to activate them or they have to let them go to the team that wants to sign them.

I heard the Texans are trying to work a deal to get Walker back off the Rams PS - so far they have offered Richard Smith + cash. No word yet from the Rams.

Why would anybody but Gary Kubiak be surprised if Green went IR on us at
some point in the year and leave us in the lurch at RB ? If the Texans were in the playoff hunt, this would really be a frustrating and serious situation.
If Kubiak is still with us here in Houston next year, I hope he's finally learned what most of us have known about Green for awhile now - not a player that can be depended on.

Kubiak's opinion on RBs isn't going to change. Have you seen how many RBs the Bronco's have gone through? They've gone through 4 or 5 this year. Sound familiar?

Give credit to the Coach/GM that has been finding guys that can work the system. Hell, Rick Smith had Green reconstruct his contract. At least we know that if Green goes to IR, he will be missing out on $1 million.

How about O.J. Simpson, he's available. Kubiak loves old veteran players with lots of injuries and we could probably get him for league minimum after we post his bond pending his appeal. He'd have to wear an ankle monitor and promise not to kill anyone though and we could send his paychecks to the Brown family to pay off his massive civil debt. He might have a game or two left in him. :)

Walker or Echimondude sounds like the two logical options. Is Brandon Jacobs a FA after this year? Jacobs + Slaton = OMG

Now you're talking! Jacobs is awesome, but not without his share of injuries, too. Walker is the most likely option for this year, and he'll do a respectable job as a backup, just like he did last year.

Who are these guys and where are they?

You are correct about the Green contact..At least the team got that right.
