I am so sick of our QB play

eriadoc

Texan-American
This pair of QBs just continue to turn the ball over. For every good thing they do, they turn around and kill it with a turnover. And I don't put any of the turnovers on Kubiak, either. The QBs are just making boneheaded stupid plays.

I do put some of the turnovers on kubiak, because he should've made smarter calls, like the int on the 1 yard line.

But both of our QB's suck. Plain and simple.

How in the hell was that INT a bad play call? Sage just flat didn't pay attention to the fact that Ngata slid out to disrupt the passing lane. There is NO FREAKING WAY that was a bad play call by Kubiak. Give me a friggin' break.

daniels was wide open in the back of the endzone, that was a poor throw.

i'm sick of it too. not so much with schaub though because atleast schaub can put up points in a favre-like way. lots of turnovers and touchdowns. sage one the other hand ... ugh.

Kubiak for some reason or another has no confidence in Slaton. At the 1 yard line, you have three chances to run it 1 yard, and you choose to pass? It doesn't make sense to me. At least it does to you.

:tiphat:

It only took one reply to place blame on Kubiak.

Perhaps we should make a sub-forum for the Kubiak haters.

That was a horrible call on Kubiak's part. He's cost us multiple TDs this season, by not running on obvious running downs. Especailly when you have a QB that has shown he's mistake prone, it was a no brainer to run the damn ball in.

Kubiak has no confidence in Slaton at the 1-yd. line for a reason - when he gets hit, he drops like a sack of potatoes. I like Slaton, and he's been a valuable player on this team, but goal-line running is not his role.

Then run Green......he was actually healthy today.

We don't have a running game! It's really that simple. People want to point to Slaton's 4.5 YPC as evidence of some running game, but when it comes down to it, we cannot run the ball when we need to.

You Kubiak haters are irrational.

It's a bad call because Kubiak should realize that his QB is probable to screw it up.

If Sage is going to play this way, then we're talking about Rex Grossman type treatment here--give him the bare responsibilities and shift the balance of the gameplan to someone else.

As far as that play goes, yes, an NFL quarterback should be able to make that play. But it's 1st and 1 ... just pound the rock in.

the only fault kubiak had on the first interception is not playing quarterback himself. anyone else would've seen the 350lb nose tackle between yourself and a wide open tightend and floated it in.

i guess kubiak is at fault for not realizing who we were playing ... it's the ravens, they suck at run defense - obviously we should run on them. :headhurts:

Green hasn't shown anything either. People criticized the playcall for the Rosencopter play, forgetting that Green and Slaton had failed to do ANYTHING in the prior plays when we needed to run the ball. THIS TEAM CANNOT RUN THE BALL WHEN IT NEEDS TO.

Unfortunately, it also can't pass the ball when it needs to because the QBs make stupid decisions with the ball, or just flat can't deliver the ball where it's supposed to go.

Must spread rep, yadda yadda ya.

Today, Sage showed why hes been a backup his whole career.

Actaully Green has shown something today, he's averaging almost 5ypc.

Running the ball is about attitude. When Kubaik was first hired he said he believes in a strong running game.......he's dedicated to the run, and then calls soft plays and let's other teams completely take him out of his game plan. Teams that are dedicated to running the ball stick to it and don't just abandon their entire game plan, because another team stopped the run on a few plays.

Tough football teams run the ball on that 1st and goal......and if they happen to get suffed they run it again. They try to line up and hit somebody in the mouth (hmm I believe I saw one team do that today), but that's not us.........we aren't a tough team, instead we are just one of the softest teams in the entire league. We're coached soft on both sides of the ball and play soft on both sides of the ball. Some of y'all might not like to hear that, but it's the truth......this team is SOFT. All you have to do is line up and hit them in the mouth (without having to worry about them doing the same) and they fold like a house of cards.

Could that throw by Sage been better.....hell yes, but that doesn't change the fact that it was a dumb playcall.....just for the simple fact that Kubaik was putting all the pressure on a mistake prone QB in the redzone. Kubiak wasn't protecting the ball.

Please, go tell Alex Gibbs he coaches soft. Go tell Jethro Franklin and Frank Bush they coach soft.

Kubiak approved the David Carr contract extension, picked up Sage Rosenfels and didn't trade him we could have gotten value, and traded 2 second round draft picks and gave guarantee money for Matt Schaub, that demonstrates to me Kubiak is not the QB guru that everyone thought he might be.

Sure, Kubiak did not directly make the turnovers, but they are his players, his offense, and his team.

FWIW.. i think it's both of their faults...i mean at least try to pound it in 1 down. If you're not successful against a top run defense...then you play action pass. For sage's part, he should've saw Ngata & lobbed it over his head but he didn't.

So you don't think this team is coached soft huh.

Well let's see.......our defensive philosophy (well if you can even call it that) is to keep plays in front of us and not get beat deep (and they can't even do that anymore). Since Smith has been here, there has been nothing "attacking" about our defense. All we do is play a preseason type shell defense all season....teams laugh at it and then pick us apart all game long. Then we get straight trucked on defense when it matters.

On offense, we get pass happy and play a finesse game plan. We don't line up and try to hit people in the mouth in obvious running situations. Hell most of the time we don't even try to establish a running game early (1st drive of the game.......3 & out..all passing plays)

So yes, we are a soft football team, incredibility soft right now. I don't care if our coaches yell at people (that has absolutely nothing to do with being tough)....they're coaching a very soft football team, with alot of soft playcalling.

Well the Texans used to run a bootleg with another quarterback who could take a hit and ocassionally run it in...but for some reason he was run out of town. hmmmmmm what was his name......i believe his is a back up on the giants.. Cmon tell me you wouldnt want his fire and intensity on the team again...... he was a leader..till the rest of the team and fans betrayed him and we are stuck wiht these two schmucks.... well H-town you got what you asked for... as for me.......

I WANT DAVID CARR BACK!!!!!!!

Your on your own on that one....... David Carr was horrilbe and is what he deserves to be. A career backup.....just like Sage.

and replaced everyone but pitts and johnson, and had us going into this game as the #4 offense.

kubiak screwed up again with his clock management at the end of the first half. there you go i started you on something he can actually control - unless we became the 2005 steelers and i missed it since we can now run for 300 yards against the ravens.

i hope you forgot to put the sarcasm smiley in.

Nobody is saying Houston needs to put up 300 yards rushing on the Ravens....that's stupid.

Just saying he should atleast try running the damn ball when you just need one damn yard, instead of sticking the ball in your mistake prone QBs hands.

All three are sucking but is this post for real? Seriously? Carr is a total bum.

HELL NO AT LEAST WITH DC HE COULD MAKE HIS OWN PLAYS..AND TAKE A HIT.

Compare the turnover to positive play ratio and Carr is better than Matt and Sage. plus the Texans didnt give up two draft pics for this benchweight..

If carr had half the weapons these guys did.. he may still be here. Again I will say I told you it want all Dc's fault.....but you guys had to drive him out and two years later is this team better?

:goodnight

Carr wasn't the worst, and I'd sure as hell take him back right now especially since there's a half way decent line to block for him. Carr sucked because there was no running game, nor a line to block. His rookie year he was sacked 75 times by week ten. That poor boy never stood a chance due to Capers ignoring the Oline problem. Didn't Carr do pretty good his 1st year with Kubiak?

I say...
there's always next year.....:texflag: go texans (with a sigh)!

Surely you jest, have you forgotten the classic fetal position? How about the negative passing yards game vs. Da Raidas? The next time he throws the ball deep down the middle of the field will be the first. Can we stop talking about him and continue bemoaning our current QB situation?

see now that's why i cant take these posts seriously. losing sucks but they're so irrational after a game because the coach didnt do what YOU wanted him to do. asking for david carr back is just ... well it's not remembering 2-14.

Carr doesn't know how to throw the ball down the field...........for a QB, that is a very HUGE flaw, but hey.....Steve Slaton would be on his way to ROY honors.

David Carr got his chance (and a 2nd chance with another team), he failed miserably and the team lost all faith in him.....if he was still here the lockerroom would be absolutely chaotic. He needed and HAD to go.

Thought you were joking, but this post certifies you're serious in which case all i can say is................wow.

That's the point of a message board is it not. We are 3-6........guess what happens when you're 3-6? The head coach's decision making starts to get questioned.

The David Carr stuff is completely over the line though...but hey, some people are always going to have a soft spot for the guy.

That's no excuse b/c i do have a soft spot for the guy considering the situation he was dropped in here. But after watching schaub looking half way decent here when he's got protection & actually throwing the ball down field, i don't want to see dump off david again.

I am serious.. as far as I am concerned .. he was better than these jokers we have now... but yall are right the past is the past....but what else..yall begged and pleaded for the guy to go and now look what we got...

Fast forward to yall asking for Kubiak's head...what are we gonna get? who is better? That is something we should have asked before making Schaub trade...was he really better? i would say yes ..he is sitting on the sideline....not worth the trade.
