Hello all

A couple of months back, I posted a search on the old site, for a place to spend my tailgating, when I joined the Texans for the game against Miami....I was asked to wait till it came a bit closer....so I did :-D

Here we go again....

Im a 26 yr old Danish Texan fan. Fan since I listended to the Texans select David Carr. Im coming to the states with 4 friends, one Texan convert(formerly Redskins....), 1 49'er and 2 Steelers fans, and Ive decided to prove to them, what tailgating is like when its Texa(n)s sized. I hope that you guys can help me make that happen....

Last time I talked to people a guy called Tedc said I could join his crew, but Im not sure, if that offers still standing....If anybody could help me make my friends and my trip to Houston more memorable please shout out, it will be greatly appreciated. I will, for the game be joining the 117 bull pen section, which I heard is pretty....ehrm....festive :-D

Anyways hope you guys can help me....please

Peter. the offer is still standing. Come out and meet some of the best fans and people I know, at the Blue Crew tailgate. We get the 5 hours before kickoff and stay till about an hour prior to kickoff.

Now what should I do to prepare my guys for it? Should we bring some danish beer? practice our madden skills? or whats the deal at your tailgating event?
 
Bring whatever you want. We have a pretty good time. We have a Pinata for the kids, Bull Pen shots for the adults, bean bag toss game for the Buckeyes, the Bull Pen band will stop by and play a few tunes, and misting fan tent for when it is hot.

As a fan who was there for 5 years this is by far one of the best tailgates, and everyone there will make you feel at home, so dont miss this one, seriously.
The Danish beer could be fun as I know there are some that would appreciate it.
Have fun and enjoy, especially in the wild and wacky Bullpen!
 
I second Teds invite Peter!! We totally enjoy entertaining TEXAN fans from afar. You will get the opportunity to meet a lot of people from this board, and all of us in the Blue Crew will see to it that you and your friends take back some fantastic memories. Besides, I like the fact that you will have a NINER fan with ya! My fav NFC team, and my second favorite team in the NFL!!

Man, I guess it's over-exposure to devastating hurricanes, a crumbling economic infrastructure, and both political parties predicting armageddon if the other side wins, but when I first read this headline, just for an instant it actually seemed reasonable that the United States would be taken over by a small scandinavian country sometime in October.

Guess that probably wouldn't have been in the Texan Tailgate section though.
 
Well now, thats a warm welcome if I ever saw one :-D

We will figure out some way to bring some danish beer to the match....not quite sure how to get them to the states, but we will find a way :-D

And dont worry about an actual invasion:-D Its been a while since we last went to the states to invade....We discovered a bit of New England back in the Viking era, but forgot about it so....go figure :-D

Im really looking forward to meeting all of you, its a rough life here in Denmark beeing the only diehard texan fan for houndreds of miles :laughjump:

Hi everyone

Im sitting in the SF International waiting for my flight to Houston. We will arrive at Houston Saturday at roughly 6am, where I hope to get some shopping done, before the Longhorns-Sooners game starts :)
Ive only been able to get a red 80 replica so far, so Im still a DeMeco and Mario jersey short :) Are there any good gear shops in the Reliant park or will we have to travel a bit to get a hold of that?
Ive brought a couple of bottles of the best danish Ale(Ale nr. 16 from Refsvindinge brewery) we have, unfortunately the baghandlers have been a bit rough with it, so we will have to get a healthy supply of Carlsberg added aswell, but that should be no problem.
My friends and I are looking forward to tailgating with all of you guys, and watching us get our first win, at the turning point of the season :fans: 12-4 here we go :)

There are stores AT the stadium to purchase jerseys, but if you have ANY time after the UT-OU game to wander around town you can find them cheaper. Academy Sports and Outdoors is a great place to find Texans clothes/hats/etc. People in Houston simply refer to it as "Academy".

I'm not sure where your hotel/location will be in Houston, but if you post it here, I'll do my best to find a location nearby to eat/drink/shop at while you're in town!

We are going to have a fantastic tailgate. With Chemical Pete and his crew, Glass Half Full and her crew, a very possible Nolan sighting, and the best tailgaters in the NFL, we are going to have a blast!
 
I got some gear at the GoTexan store at reliant, we're living at the Holiday Inn on Kirby, so we just went there :)
Tomas(The Redskin convert) and Myself will join you guys around 7.30-8.00 depending. We should be easy to spot, with Carlsberg and Tomas in a Slaton jersey, me in a DeMeco. We are sitting at row H in 117.
The other 3 will join us about 9.00 but as they are not of the right faith(49'ers and Steelers) you should pay them little respect :)
See you all tomorrow for, what Im sure will be an unforgettable experience!! :fans:

Pete, it was great to meet you and a special thanks for the Carlsberg!!! You, Thomas and the rest of your crew were awsome. Have a safe trip home although y'all are probably already in the air...
