What a huge improvement the Aggies are showing on a weekly basis. I remember after the first game against Utah (?) there were some glum predictions about just how well they were going to do this year.
It appears that the team has finally responded and is playing some really good football now. I'm not an Aggie but just thought I'd compliment them on a huge win against a very good Oklahoma State team. |

Ya, they greatly improved. I went to the A&M vs. K-State game and watching them improve right infornt of me was great. They have really stepped up and a couple that are showing up are Reggie McNeal, T-Murph, Byron Jones and Jackson Apple. #16 in BCS and improving. At worst they are a 7-4 team but they could be a 9-2 team.

Not an Aggie either, but enjoy watching them. I'll probably get roasted for this, but I think McNeal is better and has more potential than vince young.

I heard a caller on 610 a few days ago say that Vince actually was a better passer in high school and his college coaching has actually hindered him.
I'm beginning to think that is true. |

The main thing that has helped the Aggies this season is the departure of Dustin Long. Most Aggie fans would agree that Long is a very good QB (as he continues to prove at Sam Houston) But last season, he and Reggie McNeil alternated too often in my opinion.
This disrupts team chemistry and prevents the other 10 guys on offense of establishing a rhythm, especially since Long and McNeil are such different style of players.

i'll agree...having two QB's hurts a team because there is no consistant leader of the offense...as for the aggies in general they have proven me wrong this season...although i still hold strong that the defense is far from being the wrecking crew the team in general has made me stop and just look at them in a different light...i send congrates to the program for a good season so far...and good luck on the rest of the season

I'm not a aggie fan, but I'm not blind. They have improved and will be in the hunt for the south title. McNeil is way ahead of Vince Young at this point. Young is making poor decisions and his throwing motion looks awful. If Texas does not find a passing game, Brown will have more to worry about than just losing to Oklahome.

This weekend is going to really determine the shape of the Big12. You have TAMU taking on the Sooners...with the Aggies hot right now and the serious home field advantage of Kyle Field there is a decent shot at an upset. If the Sooners come in flat or get off to a bad start and let the crowd play into the game we might see the Aggies win the day.
On the other end of the state, Texas vs Tech looks to be a critical match-up as well. Tech is going to stack 8 or 9 guys in the box to stop the run and basically dare the Longhorns to throw for the win. Looks like Young may not be starting, but that probably still won't matter at the end of the day. Tech is probably going to put up 30-35 points on the Longhorns so Texas better figure out how to throw the ball if they want to win. Imagine the shake up after the weekend if Tech and A&M win on Saturday!!!! :woot

Vince Young may turn into something if we have a new O.C.
McNeil has definitely stepped up his game. I hope they beat OU and lose a close one to the Horns. Anyone know what the tiebreaker is if A&M, OU, and Texas all end up with 1 conference loss (having beaten one another)? |

Yeah the rotation last year between the 2 quater backs was a distraction, but long is an awesome quaterback for sam houston ! I live in huntsville and they have been awesome with him here averaging like 45 points a game !

If A&M beats OU, Texas beats A&M and all three schools end in a tie at 7-1, then the tie goes to the team with the highest BCS ranking. I think it would be a close call between OU and UT in that scenario.

What is up with the whole t.u. thing? Is there really that much of an inferiority complex with the fans of A&M. It's UT just get used to it. We don't call ya'll m&a, it's gay, just like t.u. I would at least like an explanation of why ya'll say it (and maybe the t-sip thing too).

I was actually the one that said t.u. I am a Longhorn. Got used to it because my brother was in the Core at A&M when I was growing up.
