Have you been to onepeat.com? Check it out. Especially if you're a USC fan. An LSU alum named Steve (he didn't give his last name) recently told UCLA Daily Bruin writer Gilbert Quiñonez that he set up the site, with the help of some friends, three days after this year's Rose Bowl to elucidate how USC fans who were worried about the Trojans not three-peating didn't even really get to enjoy a two-peat. The site's goal was to generate $10,000 --- exceeded as of Thursday afternoon --- to put up a billboard near the USC campus that featured the football helmets of LSU, USC and Texas, and the question: "Shouldn't dynasties win more than one?"

"USC's 'dynasty' was completely fabricated by the media," said Steve, noting that LSU beat Oklahoma in the 2003 BCS Championship while the Trojans won their bowl game and were named national champions by the Associated Press.

Steve told Quiñonez that he's received plenty of responses thus far from USC fans, but "not many you can print."

All funding that exceeds the $10,000 goal has been earmarked for the Hurricane Katrina Relief Fund. No word yet on if Steve and his buddies will set up a Web site for the Hurricanes-Crushed-by-LSU-in-the-Peach Bowl Fund.

This is a brilliant, I love it!!! :redtowel:

USC has gone 48-4 the past 4 seasons with 4 conference titles, a 3-1 record in BCS bowls, 1 BCS championship, and 2 AP national championships. One of the great runs in college football history.

A great run, but way overhyped, esp. because of the AP titles.

(If I'm mistaken, wasn't the first AP title a protest against OU's appearance over USC?)

While I agree with this to an extent, USC has put a sour taste in peoples mouths because of all the ESPN talk about how they are the greatest team of all time crap.

USC didn't give the sour taste, ESPN did. I don't see how a web site, billboard, or ESPN can diminish what the Trojans have accomplished on the field. I didn't mention 3 different Heisman winners over the 4 year span. 14 different players were 1st team All Americans. Or after this draft probably 10 NFL 1st round selections. And they played in one of the greatest college football games of all time. Would Texas' victory be as great if it hadn't come against USC and their 34 game win streak? Think about it.

Very astute Obiwan--doesn't make Texas any better to run down the competition they faced.

They couldnt be the greatest because they didn't have a certain unnamed superhuman QB from this years UT team playing for them. :superman:
All they had at QB was a Heisman Trophy winner...:D

:sarcasm:..
