My wife and I are coming to Reliant for the Ravens game and we want to fly in Friday night. We need some ideas for Saturday, definitely want to go to some places where I can get tons of Texans gear cheap. Looking for good places to eat, mainly Sat and Sun night and want to know which is better, the Crowne Plaza on Kirby or Holiday Inn on Kirby? Also, need ideas for which seats to get :D....thinking of 530 level, maybe 534? How are those and are they worth the 260 a ticket price tag????

Also, which parking lot is the best to tailgate and can I just walk there and party?

Not looking like that, NO! (avatar):jk:

When the wife and I get there the night before we stay @ the Crowne Plaza. It's just too easy to walk across the street and be there.

As far as seating choices, I've been all over the stadium and have been pleased with the view of the field every time. Others can give you a more expansive view/opinions on where to eat but the little Lady and myself usually
go to Papadeauxs because the service is always great and a with a couple of drinks Mama looks better and you like her again. :D The plus is it's just around the corner, about a two block round trip.

r.e. tailgating, you'll get a lot of differing responses. The Blue Crew lets me hang out with them in the Platinum Lot, if that's your choice, it's a good one.

My wife and I usually fly in and stay at the Hilton (Post Oak) down the street from the Galleria. There are some nice restaurants in that area. And because my wife travels so much, the room (even upgraded to a suite) is usually free.

It's a short drive from there to Reliant. We usually park in the platinum lot.

I've never really partaken of the tailgating. We just go in and find our seats and watch the teams warming up.

If we don't stay at the Hilton, we stay with my mom. I don't think you want to do that. Her rates are low but it's a longer drive. And there's the whole little yippy dog thing to deal with. :wadepalm:

The 500's are nice. I've been everywhere from the 4th row of the 100's (titans game last year) to the last row of the 600's (cowpies game last year) and every level between. I'll give you a tip though. If you can look for tickets in row A of the 600's the seats are about the same and you have leg room and don't have to worry about people standing up in front of you spilling your drink. When you get up and down going at half etc, it is so much easier. Take the money you save and get a jersey or something. Just my opinion.

No matter where you stay here's what I do for parking:

If you are driving by the stadium westbound on 610, go just past the crown royal hotel. There is a little resturant (I think I remember it being a Denny's like 10 years ago) just after the hotel. If you park there access to the stadium is very easy but there is an even bigger bonus. After the game when it is time to go all of the vallets from the crown royal and the cops will stop traffic so that people parked there can get out. You benefit from that tremendously AND you don't have to wait (it takes forever to get out of the CR parking lot) forever whlie you leave. I actually prefer parking there to parking in the parking lot.

Academy for cheap Texans gear, hands down. (Multiple locations). This town is a restaurant haven. Tell us what kind of food you're looking for and we can point you in the right direction. The Crowne is a bit better. Very few tickets are really worth $260 a pop. As Mike mentioned, front row is worth paying extra for.

Well first as far as driving to the game, were staying at Crowne Plaza, so we will just walk across the street and get sheeeet faced and walk back :D......

Im undecided where I want to sit. I am going to spend $$$$ and make it worth it because I have no idea when I will be coming back, so tell me good seats without worry about budget, but know I am not a millionaire :D

As for places to eat, looking to stay close to Reliant, do they have a restaurant in Reliant that is open on "off" days? Miller Park (brewers) here as TGI Fridays open year round inside the park....does Reliant have something like this???? Where is the closest Academy store (for Texans gear)....do they have knick-knacks there or just clothing?

honestly, sounds like you plan on walking around during your trip, doesnt sound like the best plan. Reliant Stadium is gated, so no there are no restaurants open in the stadium. even if there were i would still recommend moving around the city and taking in the local flavors, weather it be the texas barbeque, mexican, seafood, etc.. perhaps a trip to uptown, or mid-town for bars and a variety of restaurants..
