Will Fuller broke his collarbone

I think he's going to end up being really good.

Sure there's an issue with the hands, but his speed, route-running and ability to track the deep ball are things that are harder to find and teach.

I just hope it doesn't turn into a Charles Rodgers situation.. seems like every year he was out with a fractured collarbone. I still can't believe Andre Johnson was drafted after him, thank you Matt Millen...

Speaking of which what ever happened to "Bang Cartoon"? Those damn cartoons were funny as hell.

Agreed. And for a guy who came into the league with a known drops issue, he didn't even finish top 10 in terms of drops or drop percentage.

That being said, he had a couple of drops that are going to stay in the minds of fans for a long, long time.

League leader had 9 drops, WFV had 5. League leader had 145 targets, WFV had 92 targets.
Still wouldn't toss a baby from a burning building at him.

Rogers' 2 fractures are probably not a valid reason to be concerned about Fuller's fate.

Rogers fractured his clavicle the beginning of Dec 2013 and was placed on IR. After rehabbing conservatively, in the Lions' first game of the 2004 regular season and Rogers' first game back from injury, he again broke his clavicle after diving for a low pass across the middle on Detroit's third offensive play. He then was again placed on IR, and doctors inserted a 3 1/2-inch titanium plate with eight screws to help heal and protect the bone (possibly the same approach to Fuller's comminuted fracture). The Lions made an unbelievable decision to let him chill during the offseason, allowing him to not attend meetings, watch practices or study film. His conditioning was so bad that his 4.28 40 had dropped to 4.8 and he was not cleared to play until June 2005. He was then suspended for 4 games of 2005 for testing positive 3 times for illegal street drugs. At the time of the suspension, Rogers had only five catches for 77 yards and no touchdowns in three games that season. After returning from suspension, Rogers plays in six of eight games, catching nine passes for 120 yards and a touchdown. He was released in the final round of the Lions' 2006 cuts......never to play another game in the NFL due to a myriad of subsequent non-stop incidences of drug and alcohol abuses and arrests.

Rogers' 2 fractures were the least of his reasons for his failure. Besides the above reasons, it has to be noted that Millen and the Lions did absolutely nothing to actively help Rogers with his real demons.

THIS is what is left of Bang Cartoons humor creations.............now in the form of podcasts.

Which is why I mentioned percentages as well. Your example above is 6.2% v. 5.4%.

Crabtree has had 6 of his 8 seasons with at least 7 drops. WFV was a rookie. I'm willing to give him a bit more time to prove himself.

Some of these guys in here i swear. The kid was 3rd amongst rookie WR's in recieving yardage & each guy ahead of him had qbs 879707908-089 better than who he had throwing to him. I'll never understand how some in here act like this dude was dropping wide open TD passes to him left & right light Braylon Edwards did that 1 year. It was a down year for all of our WR core last year...mostly b/c of who was throwing them the rock. You factor in that the kid was a rookie & it's pretty easy to give him a pass. I only remember 1 major drop he had anyway, the rest of his drops you guys are just nitpicking.

I'd say this was bound to happen to a WR that catches the ball with his chest more often than his hands.

Probably started as a stress fracture from the point of the ball doinking off his collarbone hundreds of times over the years.

Wonder if they can fix his hands while they're fixing his collarbone?

I know Bah007 was being funny with his statement of Fuller's catch with his body leading to his fracture..............BUT fixing his collar bone could definitely help fix his hands. For quite a while, the last thing that Fuller will want to do to catch the ball anywhere on his chest which will be felt in his tender repaired collar bone fracture site. Sort of a Pavlov dog phenomenon.........pain tends to have you learn quickly to re-adjust.
