Will Fuller broke his collarbone

Welp....

Just doing a quick google search looks like about a 3 month injury. That's the bulk of the season.

Certainly opens the door for Strong to emerge and one of the fringe guys like McCarron or the guy from NorthShore, White, will certainly make the roster now.

Is anyone else afraid the Doc will explain to us that its career threatening, he will never have full mobility and will ultimately have to have his arm removed? Or is it just me lol

Funniest stuff i read in a while. It's always like that, isn't it? "If he broke it this way he will be fine. But if he broke it like this full amputation."

His advice is always spot on.

While the medical team for the Texans are "no its just a sprain. Don't worry what the x-rays say." Then 3 months after playing games they are "so it was a break. And we ruined him for life. He is but a shell of himself never able to walk or feed himself again."

Just amputate him at the neck. Don't need no stinking collarbone then! Wait, maybe I should rethink that plan.

The return to play following surgery on a fractured clavicle is extremely variable depending on where the location of the fracture is on the clavicle, whether it is displaced, and if it is comminuted (shattered into pieces) or not. If he had a single clean break with or without simple displacement in the mid clavicle (most common fracture site since it is the weakest), and if healing progresses well, the surgically supported bone can usually allow the player to return in ~6 weeks. If the clavicle fracture is in other locations, comminuted a rod or plate reconstruction is a more variable recovery and can be up to 3 months.

An American Journal of Sports Medicine study revealed that 94% of plated clavicular fractures (all types) returned to the same preinjury performance level. The mean time to return-to-sport was 68 days (range, 5-180 days). Nine (16.6%) of the cases returned to sports before 6 weeks after surgery, 40 (74%) returned between 6 and 12 weeks, and 5 patients (9.2%) returned 12 weeks after surgery.

Without knowing the exact facts behind the fracture and repair, we are left only with the reasonable possibilities of return anywhere from 6 weeks to 12 weeks. Dr. Chao's optimistic statement is based on the best case scenario.

I'm pretty butt hurt about this. Not as hurt as Fuller is, but still butt hurt. I was really looking forward to seeing his improvement this season. With his speed, he can lull a defense with a bunch of short throws in off coverage, then make a big play downfield when the defense tightens that coverage up. IF he catches the ball. :D

He probably was swatting a mosquito on his collarbone.

Reminds me of the receiver from the Replacements. He'll get open, but man alive he's left me dumbfounded at times with TD drop after TD drop.

WHy did I come in here?!?! I should have known Cloak would be in here dropping his depressing knowledge :(

We're doomed. It's over. We'll be 0-16 and the Yellowstone super volcano will erupt and destroy the US right after the aliens land begin their massive human barbecue.

Might as well get stoned then.
Did someone say barbeque? signed Vince Wilfork.

edited for added info: This is Wendell Williams chance. 4 of 7 targets 75 yards 18.8 avg. for Texans 2016 in two games. 40 time at a regional combine March 2015 was 4.19 and a 45 " vertical (highest ever for the regular Combine. He averaged 30.5 in college at Cumberland. Hand issues as did Fuller. First rounder versus UDFA.

NEXT MAN UP

Ya'll (dig at you Cak) is so funny... yeah Fuller dropped way too many, and big ones too. But he caught a lot of big ones too

Not for touchdowns but still

I'd say this was bound to happen to a WR that catches the ball with his chest more often than his hands.

Probably started as a stress fracture from the point of the ball doinking off his collarbone hundreds of times over the years.

That's some funny **** right there.

I think he's going to end up being really good.

Sure there's an issue with the hands, but his speed, route-running and ability to track the deep ball are things that are harder to find and teach.
