Will Carr be on my roster?

This might be a bit early to ask but I've got nothing else to do. The question is: Will David Carr be a viable fantasy football starter this year? Obviously we won't know till we start the season but I'd like to hear the reasons both for and against it. :soapbox:

I think he will but I am not taking the chance on him as my top QB. My top QB for the last 2 years has been McNabb (I think I got him in the 2nd round last year) and I would still pick McNabb over Carr especially with the addition of TO (Oddly enough, TO has been my top WR the last two years also). Carr will be a great backup though.

I think AJ will have the best fantasy season of any Texan, and if that stands true Carr will have a great season too.

IMO, no. He hasnt solidified himself as a top tier QB. He may be a viable 3rd QB. Go with Manning #1, Bulger, and McNabb.

I would consider taking him as a backup, but not the starter. For him to get into fantasy starter range, he has to prove it to me. His Intercetions must drop, his TD numbers must improve, along with yds per game, and better 4th QTR numbers. If he does better than expected, I could always put him in as the starter, but I prefer someone with a proven track record. If you take him as your starter, it's imperative you have a very good second option, or you will be an also-ran quickly.

I don't even see him as a quality backup. I view him as about the 20-25th best fantasy QB. I just don't see him getting good fantasy numbers with our style of offense.

But then again bro, if you get him now while people don't want him, you will be able to get more bang for your buck. Nawut Imean?

I think he will be a good 2nd pick up at best...even if he has the "breakout year" that we are expecting (ie. hoping for) there will a lot of guys with the raw fantasy numbers in front of him I would suspect. It has more to do with than just his physical skills, we are going to be a run 1st offense so that plays as well.
I do think he will be a good roster pick based on his development and the growing supporting cast around him this year.

I'm not in any keeper leagues. I'm in two leagues that start from scratch every year.

I would noy pick him. I think the Texans will opt to run more and willbe decidedly more successful running. Not to mention the defense should be improved which encourages more running the ball. I am not saying it will be this way all the time, but if the plan is set for Dom then that is how it will happen.

Carr has been a good QB, but not fantasy numbers good. My first choice has always been Manning, and if I lose out on getting him, then I lean toward Culpepper or Trent Green. I would also try for Vick, but that's about it. Am I giving up too much information?

I wouldn't draft Carr either this year but I do remember I had him fill in for one week, and I don't remember if was the game against Cleveland or Buffalo, but he did fill in very well. It all depends on how the players around him perform and if they do well then Carr will do well. Last year my starting qb was Daunte Culpepper and my backup was Trent Green of the Chiefs. Domanick Davis and Andre Johnson should be solid players on fantasy teams. Hopefully, Billy Miller has a good year too.

May off subject some, but this has to be one of the quickest fantasy football offseasons yet. I've been so busy with school, and fantasy baseball. It doesn't even seem like it's been months since fantasy football ended. Anyways, Fantasy Football should start in about a month and a half. So it's not far away.

I play in a keeper league and I have Duante Culpepper and David Carr. We are allowed 5 keepers from year to year and I was actually just wondering myself if I should keep Carr as one of the 5.

If I had the first pick I would pick Priest Holmes. Week in and week out this man just delivers the goods.
