Why you shouldn't be a fan of the Texans

I am a fan. And this is a warning for anyone thinking of becoming one themselves.

Stay away.

The Texans are a team full of talent. We have skills players who are excellent on both sides of the ball. Despite this, we are conditioned losers.

1. We have been blown out this year. See New York Giants.
2. We've lost to the worst team in football. See the Cowboys beatdown.
3. We've lost in primetime. See the Colts.
4. We've blown leads and lost at the end of the 4th. See the Chargers.
5. We've lost due to terrible calls. Again, see Chargers.


And today, we added a new twist. We've lost due to divine intervention.

During a week in which a group of Texans fans literally started a thread advocating that we conduct a mass prayer for the Texans, we get a comeback teaser followed by the most incredible act of divine intervention Ive ever seen in a football game.

Our cornerback jumps and literally knocks the ball directly into a receivers hands? That will be one for the history books.

We are a poorly coached, low effort, ref biased, and now snakebitten cursed team.

Just thought any prospective fans should be aware of that.


(Yes, I am highly frustrated after that game, and yes this is supposed to be funny and not serious)

You really can't even be angry after losing like that.

I mean, really? A knockdown directly to the defender?

Thats more amazing than the catch they literally call "The Catch"

This is one of those once in a lifetime plays that will be remembered forever.

And we happened to be on the wrong end of it. As usual.

You mean MULTIPLE threads with MULTIPLE people posting the SAME **** every single time isn't ****ing annoying? If this board is any indication of our fan base as a whole, then its a damn shame, because we're a bunch of petulant children.

At least you're intelligent. Some of us refuse to learn.

No team can overcome poor coaching, management, referees, and now the Almighty too I suppose.

Maybe 2 or 3 of those, but all? Pshhh, impossible.

Just out curiosity, what were you expecting coming to a board after what was literally a miracle play that results in a last second loss that effectively ends our season?

Maybe there'll be a shake up in the coaching staff now because of this. To little to late I know, this season is over, but you have to start sometime. And there are a few good head coaching candidates out there right now.

Fans are frustrated right now. Yes, all the new threads are annoying, but I understand the frustration that clouds judgement. I however don't need to make new threads b/c other numb, broken-hearted fans have made them for me.:wadepalm:

I agree. This was the first game this season that I've been able to enjoy. I watched it with no emotion and I laughed at that miracle last minute touchdown by Jacksonville.

I think the team not posting the same results on the field every single game might change that.

You're acting as if its just today. I'd like to see the board recognize who to blame when its appropriate. I'd like to see the board diversify their complaints and criticisms of the team. I'd like to see all the nonsense contained to one thread, rather than spread out over 17 different threads, considering they all say the same crap.

^^^THIS = :kubepalm: unless I am not understanding you which may be possible as I am loaded right now........ are you saying fans who are die hards like myself who are pissed about this season are annoying or the Texans kool-aid drinking nut garglers that act like everything is all effing roses are annoying?


I made the mistake of getting my emotions involed in this game. I was cool and detached during this game until the comeback started in the 3rd and 4th quarters and also when all the Shiner kicked in. I then made the mistake of letting myself get into it and then, of course getting let down.

Anyone who knows me knows just how much I love not only the Texans but the city of Houston. So, I will give the benefit on the doubt and assuem you're not talking about die hards like myself as being annoying.....

honestly with last season and starting out this season.. I used to drink beer and watch the game, but I would get pissed at how the Texans would play.. about week 4 I had a 12 pack nice and cold and ready .. I turned the game on, I was going on the 2nd beer and I remember getting it out of the fridge and was fixing to open it.. a thought came over me and I put the beer back into the fridge and the last few weeks, I haven't drank while watching them (except today,but I am enjoying myself)











the thought was "I am not wasting a good buzz on the Texans"

I don't understand fans turning on each other because of how they respond to losses.

That baffles me. Team plays poorly, fans *****, other fans ***** about their bitching. And here I am bitching about, the fans bitching about other fans bitching.

Man, I hope we start winning soon....
 
When you go into Sunday expecting for the Texans to lose......it is SO much easier when they do lose. Especially in a way like we did today.

No big deal, if we would of won today, we woulda lost the next seven. Who cares, lets look forward to ANOTHER draft and keep saying......."I cant wait till next year".

Some fans will still *****. I remember a couple weeks ago after a win, people made it seem like we lost by 50.

I made it through 2-14 and by the grace of tailgating I'll make it through this year.
 
I'm gonna go to every game this season and enjoy every last minute of every game. I'd just be happier if the defense weren't so frustrating to watch.

Not sure why you feel it necessary to stick around then if it bothers you so. I got tired of the board back over the off-season and walked away for a few months. If you continue to feel this annoyed with it I recommend a sabbatical highly.

A man with answers! So who does the blame fall on for this seasons disappointments (following all the years of disappointment before)?
 
I also felt no pain or sadness. I felt a bit bad for the players, but that didn't last long. I'm just numb and feel nothing for the Texans.
