Why Troy Williamson is the perfect fit!

With the texans already addressing the defensive cornerback position, the only realistic other options would be OLB, MLB, DE on the defensive side. More than likely neither ware nor meriman could over take peek next year, and the only middle linebacker that is Derrick johnson and he probably won't fall. That leaves DE, marcus spears is a great player but he won't start either and wouldn't have nearly the impact that Troy williams will have. He's just what this offense needs to make it to the next level. I just hope he falls.

Texans choices for 13
1 derrick johnson
2 troy williamson
3 cedric benson or cadillac williams
4 shawn merriman or ware
5 Marcus spears

I would be happy with any of these picks but i think that offense is where we will get the immediate impact from troy williams or Either one of the running back.

While I agree that our defense needs more help, the truth is that we've done everything this off-season on the defensive side of the ball. Focusing the draft on that would be passing up a major opportunity to reel in that one player that might throw our offense over the top. Personally, I think Troy Williamson might be a good pick there. Ced Benson or Williams might be good picks too.

We have done alot on the D-Side of the ball cause we sucked at it last year. Capers knows from his days in Carolina that without a good defense you cant win. Bottomline we could get DJ if we wanted to pull the trigger on him cause Washington will want our 1st and next years third, but we wont so we have to look to trade down or take the top Defensive prospect. T. Williamson is good, but I dont know how every poster has not looked at the rest of the playmakers at WR in this draft. It has not been this deep since two years ago when everyone wanted a wideout. Look Jerome Mathis, Mark Bradley, Chris Henry, Reggie Brown will all be awesome receivers and the two top guys I mentioned with Brown are threats to score whenever the ball touches them just like Williamson. The difference would be we dont have to pay them foolish money.

DJ
MErrimen
Ware
Pollack
Spears
Williamson
James
Barron

This should be our order on the draft chart.

I have to disagree with your assesment. I think our bet move is to try to trade down. If we can trade with the Rams, we can pick up thier first,2nd, and third. We can Pollack in round one to help our Passrush, Reggie Brown to play opposite AJ, and then one of the best guards/center left like a Elton brown, Ben Wilkerson, Jason Brown or Justin Geisinger. In this way we have upgraded our CB, upgraded our pass rush, provided a good 2nd to AJ, and have a person who can step in and help with our O line. That i think is what we need to do.

I cannot argue with you thought here. I actually kind of like it. The only thing that I am unsure of is Pollack really the guy we should go after. I mean Demarcus Ware could fall to us at 19. I like Reggie Brown even though I think I like Mathis more. This plan would give us two thirds again which would give us some great options as far as O-line and D-line prospects. Maybe even a guy like Vincent Jackson who is pretty much the next Antonio Gates.

Is Troy Williams like a hybrid of Troy Williamson and Mike Williams?

I was trying to figure that out myself. The size of Mike williams with the speed of Troy Williamson?!?! :woot

OR

The size of troy williamson with the speed of mike williams :thumbdown

Or for a total off the wall statement, the size of Ernest Givens with the speed of Maurice Clarett. :loser

Give me M.Clayton from Oklahoma , I think he's the more polished reciever and a fierce competitor ...... i watched several OU games last season and i cant count the times he "EARHOLED" a defender run blocking not to mention he runs good route's and has great hands . He may not be the fastest , biggest guy nor the biggest name but I think he's the best fit @ WR for this team .

That's what I'm saying - Clayton is better than Williamson straight up. But what we may have here is one of those rare opportunities to have our cake and eat it to. We may be able to trade down several clicks and get a lower first rounder and second round pick in xchange. OK we use that first on Clayton (who may very well be there though that stradegy is risky) and use that 2nd round pick on one of the top tier center/guards in the draft. Remember replacing McKinney and/or Weigert is still a top priortity.
It's possible that Cass & crew may feel so strongly about Clayton that they won't want to risk trading down and missing him. I think he is a real sleeper in this draft and I won't be that surprised if he's the second WR takin after B. Edwards.
