Cushings interception Sunday, his third of the year, was impressvie but not
as impressive to me as what he did after he got the ball: he moved it over to the correct arm while running down-field towards the GL and he used a straight-arm to ward off a Colt. All in the same play. How often have you seen one of our full-time running backs do those 2 things in the same play ?
So this is a LB who has some real ball-skills and if I'm not mistaken he learned them playing both running back and WR (among other positions), back in NJ in HS ?
So we've got us a very hard-nosed 260-pounder with some quicks who also has descent ball skills including good hands. And they say Cushing is a "throwback" ? Well then that sounds like 2-way to me, atleast 2-way to the extent of a part-time running back in short yardage and full-time LB ? Finally it would free up roster spot, because why would we need Chris Brown ?
