Why is everyone hopping on the Mario Williams band wagon?

I expect him to get 15 sacks next year if you're goin to past up Bush. "We're trying to build a defense championship team"-Casserly. WTF you're thinking championship already, are you serious.

If Casserly had 4 months to make the number 1 pick he didn't knew what he wanted the day before the draft. They should've tried to negoitate with the Jets to trade for John Abraham and the 4th pick.

They are drafting at potential not the best player. Reggie Bush is the next closet thing. The 2nd best player in the draft isn't even close to how good Bush is.

People that like the pick should be shot. Houston fans are irrational if you think that Williams is the best pick. Have you ever seen him play or just heard that he's the next or better than Julius Peppers.

Scouts that broke down the NC State football games play by play said that he wasn't even a "phenom" and he wasn't he even the best player at times.

Experts and scouts rated Bush one point below their scale which is next to pefect.

You could never sell me that Williams was the right pick.

If you're goin to reply you have to give me your argument for picking Williams.

I always loved Mario and if you read my posts from weeks ago I was in the trade down and get him camp. I'm still stunned that we are taking him #1 though. I'm thinking they are doing like Denver and getting him here and trading up to get a back later.

Look I know the phrase "defense wins championships" sounds nice, but lets be real............GREAT players win championships........The Texans passed on 2 great talents, for a guy who will get 10-15 sacks a year (maybe) at the most......this isn't even meant to knock mario williams, but he is not the best player in the draft, and I'll even go out and say he isn't the best defensive player in the draft.....VY and Bush have the ability to change the game at any moment with a spectacular play......you can't win games in the NFL scoring 0 points.......this offseason has been a total waste, the Texans aren't any better than they were last year...........here's to the texans going 0-16 and to Bush and VY having great careers. :redtowel: .................and I'm serious.

The Texans dont have bandwagon fans...they suck. No offense but you do. As for the Mario your gonna need him in that division with the Jaguars on the rise and the Colts high powered offense. Not to mention the Titans might get Bush.

Smart man. Abraham sucks against the run, but you would have had a better pass rusher and D'Brick.
 
Im with you. Even if this works out and Williams is the next J Peppers and Bush is the next Faulk who would you rather have ? If we wanted defense we should of went after Abraham and the jets pick and turned that into Ferguson wouldnt that duo look better that just Williams.

I'm a Patriots fan and all I have to say is thank god for teams like the Texans who annually screw up the NFL draft. How can you not take a potential hall of fame running back?!?!? I feell really bad for you fans, why would your team allow a lame duck GM to make this decision?

This is one your REALLY going to regret. Just take a look at the history of defensive linemen taken 1st overall. Not pretty.

you mean Courtney Brown who at the time were said to be Reggie White.

Texans are drafting on potential not true talent. Bush has innovative moves and he has speed
