baba ganoush

Waterboy
sign - eric steinbach OG
sign - nate clements CB
sign - michael lewis S
sign - albert haynesworth DT

trade - david carr to raiders for third round pick
trade - next years 2nd and this years 2 3rds for clinton portis(restructured contract)
trade the rest of our picks tojump back into the 3rd round

draft - reggie nelson S
draft - rufus alexander OLB
draft - Kevin Kolb QB

i know this will never happen, but i wish it would! :ok:

I can't say that I endorse this idea, other than signing Nate Clements and maybe Eric Steinbach. While you're at it throw in Lance Briggs rather than Michael Lewis and Albert Haynesworth.

Well, mostly it won't happen because we don't have the money and the Texan's FO, regardless of who has been in it, has never gone with the fans pick to date.

Because we don't have $70 million to spend on players. And because that's a dumb idea in the first place.

You don't spend your move up ammo a year befor you're going to need it. The '08 draft should be loaded with RB and OLT tallent. They have 10 to 13.5 million in cap space. That is the best guess. Moving Carr, the way I read it, you're going to suck some of those dollars up for the move. You might get one of the guys on your list. Two would be highly unlikely. There will be a bidding war on Clements. I like Alexander at the 2. I've already posted multipul times on Kolb. He is a prospect for a vertical passing team. We don't do that.

While we are putting easy Madden like moves can we just trade a 2nd and next years third for Julius Peppers. Then trade Petey, Greenwood, and TJ plus cash for Deangelo Hall. After that sign Kris Deilman and best center available.

We draft Peterson, Meriweather, and Amobi Okoye. dont care how the rounds work out lets just make it happen.

Ok enough being an @ss about it, I like the Clements signing if within reason and Steinbach or Dielman are both good options. Past that cant run with you on this one ganoush.

i don't disagree. i vehemently disagree. deangelo hall is terrible. not young or developing, but flatout terrbile.

I would suspect you would. I wont argue with you on it, but Deangelo Hall IS one of the best young corners in this league. There are not many in the entire league with his speed, strength, technique. Then again you are a self-proclaimed draft expert. I remember how your mocks were looking last year so you go ahead believing what you please.

i actually wound up with one of the better mocks out there. but that's besides the point. ;)

deangelo hall has no technique. that's his biggest problem.

it's all about his hips. he doesn't use them well and gets out of position as a result.

dude, i know you like to call yourself an "expert" but there is only one real draft expert and that would happen to be mel kiper jr...you may not agree, but this guy studies the most of any player that will enter the draft...i dont want to sound like mean individual but, [...edited by infantrycak--leave off the insults. Kiper would even tell you his big board is not done so much off his personal opinion and review of tape as it is his excellent league sources who describe their boards to him or what they are thinking, i.e. he is more about gossip and reporting than analysis. Doesn't mean he is not a valuable reference but it really isn't his opinion for the most part.

i understand that, but mel is the one making the money by doing what you explained...but im sick of this kasftisg or whatever his name is guy that thinks he's the crap calling himself an expert cause he's NOT!

Not to mention Kiper changes his mocks around all the time to cover himself so after the draft he can point to just about any pick in the draft and point out that at a certain point in time he predicted that pick and saw it all coming, that's how their game is played. I know Kiper gets paid a lot of money and such, but a lot of what he said makes me wonder whether he's really watched much on most of the guys he comments on or if he just takes snippits of what he hears from other reporters and his league sources and pools them together. He seems to watch the all star games and such pretty thoroughly (especially the Senior Bowl) but most of the time it doesn't seem like he's seen much of their actual game footage, and he tends to latch on to the ever-changing latest flavor of the week. I don't trust his analysis a lot of the time, especially this early in the year and it's generally relatively easy to tell who he's actually watched or not. Take what Kiper says with a grain of salt and don't necessarily latch onto it as the gospel.

aaaaand what does any of this have to do with my evaluation of deangelo hall?

kiper? LOL... just watch his draft board, it is all smokes and mirrors to make himself look good..he has people go up and down his board and when they get drafted at a cerain time, he relays that to the timeframe he had them at that slot
