who's next?

the question is simple...who do you think the texan's organization will extend next? if you listen to john mcclain on the radio he hinted that the texans might not be done yet with contract extensions...so who's next...could andre johnson already be heading to contract extension or is it someone like peek, or PB

andre probably has four years left so maybe if he keeps improving they might think about it in two or three. phillip might get one but he needs to have a good year before the front office forks up some more money.

Chester Pitts

I think he is certainly deserving of one. He's done everything the team has asked him to do, and he's played every game so far in his career. They seem to think he's capable of being a Pro Bowl caliber LG so I think they might want to keep him around awhile.

*Edit* I just looked it up and Pitts signed a 4 year contract as a rookie back in 2002, and I'm assuming he's still under that contract. Not sure of any team options or anything like that, but he has certainly outplayed the 2.6+ million dollar contract.

Here's an interesting stat I found at SI.com so take it FWIW.

Carr will likely have his contract redone this year.
Pitts is entering the last year of his contract.
Gaffney might get extended if he has a good start.

It's not a bad idea to extend alot of these contracts now, when we don't have the cap issues we may have in a few years. do it just like we did with wong and davis, more money up front and less the following years. but i think casserly knows this already.
