Who would you draft

OK here it goes, Ive been reading all of your posts and it seems to me everyone on here loves to change thier mind so Im going to try to get everyones opinion.
Im going to say if you had a option to either pick up Troy Smith in the second or
Kevin Colb in the 3rd which one would you rather spend your pick on.
Now I know you have to look at the size factor in Smith but you also have to look at his leadership role and the fact that he won the Heis...
Now look at a Kolb in the 3rd. He has the prototypical size that most QBs have in the NFL and he has a great arm but he came out of a easier confrence. Now that being said I know alot of yall are saying pick up Smith in the second if he is avalible but I know a couple of weeks ago on here and 610 alot of yall were saying we have to pick up Kolb. Well which one do you want if avalible at these circumstances?

I'd be surprised if we used a pick on a QB. I see us getting a starting QB in FA and Sage as our backup.

However, I wouldn't mind seeing Sage get the nod as our starter and picking up a QB in the draft.
Russell would be my first choice..yeah, yeah, I know.
Smith would be my next choice.
Either way, hope springs eternal for a MUCH improved '07 season.

BPA for where we pick b/c all of the top 8 guys need in 1 position or another. that could change in FA, but for the most part whomever falls to us.

Whether it's Adams, Landry, Nelson, Peterson etc.

We should wait until the top 10 in talent is established & ranked & go from there. every pick after that is just chance & opportunity.

I would not be suprised to see Cleveland take Smith in the 2nd before we even get a chance at him. Even if he were there when we pick I believe there are going to be other players that would make a bigger impact for our team, so I wouldn't take one before the 3rd. If we tighten up our defense and get a credible running game we can win games without a top tier QB...just look at da Bears.

i say smith.... we need a qb and everyone knows it...even if we sign a fa chances are it will be someone old ala plummer,garcia....whomever.....we need fresh meat to mold how kub want him and smith to me is ideal.....and if he was 4inches taller hed be the number one qb taken so him slipping to the second would be nice for us

I'd look at both these guys in the senior bowl this weekend. They both have something to prove. Smith wants to prove he is the prospect he once was thought. Kolb wants to show he can play on the same level as the big boys. This game will be their last chance to showcase thier talent before the draft.

I'd also like to see how Leak plays...haven't heard a prediction on his place in the draft...

If Smith Fell to the third... Yep he'd be a great third round prospect for us. Smart passer and can move in the pocket. If we gota line fora shorter guy that could open lanes a lil better.....

Kolb is not a prospect for this team. You guys go ape when DC throws one wild. You're going to get that all day with Kolb. Also, you can pretty much scratch the waggle plays with Kolb. I havn't resarech how much they used it last year...but it was at least six to eight times per game. Kolbs feet & shoulders are a train wreck on the move. Not even Kubiak is going to be able to fix that. Kolb is not an option. If Tatter tot is there in the fourth, I gamble with the guy.
But repeat this after Me:

No team in forty -one years has ever...ever mind, you won a Super Bowl with a scrambling Quarterback. Never ever.

go with Sage as the starter, and then take Jeff Smith in the 7th round. He is a small school guy from Georgetown College (not Georgetown University) with a big upside. At 6'-6" and 246 lbs, he has good size for the position.
