And you're a Patriot fan...GoPats said:I think you have to start with a QB. Of the three on your list, Brady is the youngest and has proven more durable than McNabb. Manning may be the better overall QB, but I took age into account.

Gimme L.T.
Don't tell me your not bias towards Brady, he is your QB, I understand. I bet most Colts fans would take Manning. I'm not saying there is no reason to take either, they are great players, but one of your factors for taking Brady is that you see him every week. If the poll was "which WR would you build a team around" and AJ was on the list, I'd be bias towards him.GoPats said:All I know is that the Pats won two Super Bowls with Antowain Smith as their running back. There haven't been too many teams that have won it all without a great QB (Trent Dilfer, Brad Johnson, etc, but those teams were known for their Ds). I just think it's a more important position... has nothing to do with which team I like the most. Hey, I didn't put Brady's name in the poll.

youre just saying that because youre used to watching the pathetic texans line, if you were a denver fan where they always have a good line youd probably be saying quaterback or some other skill position. If you have a decent o-line with outrageous skill players, then that equals victoryawtysst said:Other.
When building an NFL team you have to have a good Offenisve line. The most important player on the Oline is the LT. Thus I would select Walter Jones, LT from Seattle. he creates huge holes for Shaun Alexander and can do so for any runner. While a good Qb is nice to have, and a versatile runner would be great, you have to have someone to protect them and open up holes for them.

tulexan said:I completely agree with your notion that to have any success you must have a good line. But that statement proves why LT is so good. The guy had absolutely no line for a few years and was still one of the top performing players in the league.
Scooter said:i've gotta go with peyton. the pats have been a great TEAM with a great head coach and a good qb. look what happened when indy got a great head coach and now have something resembling a defense. from 2002 to date, indy is 43-14 and new england is 42-15 ... the deciding factor in which team is better is championships. defense wins championships. since manning's only 1 year older than brady and going to the HOF for personal accomplishments as opposed to team accomplishments ... he's got my vote. edge wouldnt be edge without peyton making defenses look silly and denver's proved that good rb's can be made into greats with coaching and scheme (my reasoning for not taking LT).
San Diego was able to post a 12-4 record last year. Was that due to the consistent dominance of Tomlinson (which he does every year...even when they suck) or the improved play of their QB position (Drew Brees)? Brees has regressed a bit this year already throwing more INTs (8) than all of last year (7). Not coincidentally, the Chargers already have as many losses this year as last year. To me, that speaks volumes about which position is more important.Vinny said:I think that being a bad team had something to do with the Chargers owning the first overall draft pick when he came to the team. The Chargers have an explosive offense now and Tomlinson is the key component all the while SD has been shuffling the offensive line a couple of times since he came aboard.
Vinny said:It's part of it...bottom line is that this sport has 22 men on the field of play and its more of a synergy of combined players than any one guy.
Gates '04 averages: 64 yards per game, .867 TDs per gametulexan said:I think the Chargers success last year was due to the emergence of Antonio Gates. But the fact that they have to respect the run so much with LT opens up the passing game.

BTW, how is Carson Palmer not even an option for this poll?
MorKnolle said:Carson Palmer has barely started for a full season yet and I don't think has done enough to prove that he should be on this poll, and Manning, Brady, and McNabb were the top three QBs to put on the poll in my mind.

You also took into account that you are a Pats fan!!! I think the Texans are living proof that a qb does no good without a line! I would have to say LT because he can does it all without a great O-line, unlike Brady, Manning or McNabb..GoPats said:I think you have to start with a QB.
