Don't tell me your not bias towards Brady, he is your QB, I understand. I bet most Colts fans would take Manning. I'm not saying there is no reason to take either, they are great players, but one of your factors for taking Brady is that you see him every week. If the poll was "which WR would you build a team around" and AJ was on the list, I'd be bias towards him.GoPats said:

I'd pick LT, but RBs have a tendency to wear out by their 30s. A good QB can last well into his late 30's if he's protected and takes care of himself.
He's 9-0 in the postseason, and has a 61%+ completion percentage since 2001. In addition, I read recently that he's already got well over 20 come-from-behind winning drives in the 4th quarter/overtime, and the guy is in his mid 20's!

When building an NFL team you have to have a good Offenisve line. The most important player on the Oline is the LT. Thus I would select Walter Jones, LT from Seattle. he creates huge holes for Shaun Alexander and can do so for any runner. While a good Qb is nice to have, and a versatile runner would be great, you have to have someone to protect them and open up holes for them.

youre just saying that because youre used to watching the pathetic texans line, if you were a denver fan where they always have a good line youd probably be saying quaterback or some other skill position. Well i tend to believe that a great running back make a line great except in Denver.

Thats 15 great backs that I named off the top of my head. At Lt's Level, I would say priest, LJ, Alexander, Lewis of old, and maybe Portis are on his level. Thats maybe 5 in the league.
Now lets look at LTs. The best Lts in tha league are: Walter Jones, Pace, and Jon Ogden. Ogden has not been all that good this season and is getting up there in age. Pace is possibly the only other LT at the level of Walter Jones, but I am not sure if he is. Thats maybe 2 strong LTs in the league.
How many quality RBs come out each year? Usually a handful of real good backs come out each year. This year might be a bit different, but the point is if you need a solid back you can usually find him in the first few rounds each year. Priest and What about Lts? Really solid Lts do not come out each year.
Edge: 98,Alexander:99 draft, Tomilson: 00 draft. Thats just a short list but as you can see, really strong backs can come out yearly. Who have been the best LTs to have come out the last few years? Jordan Cross, Robert Gallery, Klaief Barnes. They are allright, but not at the same level of Walter Jones.
Point is, you HAVE to take a position that is very hard to find with a guy who is the best in the business, and a fairly youthful guy to boot.

i've gotta go with peyton. the pats have been a great TEAM with a great head coach and a good qb. look what happened when indy got a great head coach and now have something resembling a defense. from 2002 to date, indy is 43-14 and new england is 42-15 ... the deciding factor in which team is better is championships. defense wins championships. since manning's only 1 year older than brady and going to the HOF for personal accomplishments as opposed to team accomplishments ... he's got my vote. edge wouldnt be edge without peyton making defenses look silly and denver's proved that good rb's can be made into greats with coaching and scheme (my reasoning for not taking LT).

San Diego was able to post a 12-4 record last year. Was that due to the consistent dominance of Tomlinson (which he does every year...even when they suck) or the improved play of their QB position (Drew Brees)? Brees has regressed a bit this year already throwing more INTs (8) than all of last year (7). Not coincidentally, the Chargers already have as many losses this year as last year. To me, that speaks volumes about which position is more important.Vinny said:

I took Brady for the simple fact he has been there and done that already. While it's ok to say "Well he had this, he had that, blah blah blah" the fact is he still had to go out and march the guys downfield and he got it done...
Also it was too easy to take LT or Peyton so I decided to sure things up with a QB I know I would love to have at the Texans (with a slightly better O-Line)!

Brady has had SOLID O-lines to work behind so he can be COOL under pressure.
If nothing more football is very fundamental. Those fundamentals without good Lineman O or D you can't do any of those PRETTY things behind it.
Give me O-Pace out of those choices I see. Then LT.
