Who would Cass move up for besides DJ ?

We all know the Texans covet DJ, but I wonder if there is someone else out there that they have their eye on. Someone else who wouldn't cost us as much as DJ. Recall last year, I don't think anyone had a clue about their interest in Babin. Maybe they think Mike Williams would be the perfect complement for AJ or think that Merriman is such a physical freak
that its worth the conversion process to get the big time edge rusher they
still seek. Cass has that Xtra 3rd rounder to burn - that should be enough
to move him up ahead of our intrastate rival if the right player is still
on the Board at #9.

the player we are most likely to trade up for is Cedric Benson IMO. But with the releasing of Sharper, DJ or Merriman seems a possibility, even though if we were to trade up for a linebacker we would make it DJ. Mike Williams will go before Braylon Edwards so we might trade up for Edwards.

Most likely to trade up for:
1. Benson
2. DJ
3. Merriman
4. Edwards

I would add Mike Williams to that list.

I dont think they would trade up for Benson, I think if he is available at 13 you take him but I dont see them moving to get him. I like Benson a lot and would love to have him on our team, but not for a high cost when we already have a solid runningback who has been doing well.

I for one will be suprised if we traded up for a RB... I just don't see it..I don't know at this point I don't like the idea of trading up and giving up picks.. maybe it is because I have read so much hype about all the players.... but i'd like to come out of this draft with a CB,C, DL or LB.. with this draft

If we are to move up, I'd like to see us move up from the 2nd round and get Bass or use one of our 3rds to get wilkerson..(baring he is healthy)

If have read between Casserly's line correctly, he is not interested in Mike williams. Think I remember him saying that you have use him correctly, and that he may grow into a H-back.

Not sure if I am buying Merriman as much as I was earlier. The closer i look at him, he reminds of a defensive Barron, a physical freak with good, but not great production.

IMO, the texans would draft a RB, but would not trade up to do so.

I don't think they'd move up for Benson or Edwards, but DJ & Merriman could be a different story, if it doesn't cost too much. No matter what happens, the Texans will pick up a player, that should contribute significantly before the end of the year, with the 13th pick. That's why I don't believe they'll sell the house to move up in the draft.

Barring a move up for DJ or Merriman, I could see us doing another move up, like we did for Babin last year, to get Baas or Justin Tuck.

I'd prefer that we went after Spencer in a later round (3rd), rather than give up picks for Baas, but I'd be happy either way.

We might be able to get Tuck in the early part of the 2nd round. I just don't think he'll be on the board at our 2nd pick (#47). He's an intriguing player. With his speed, quickness, & pass rushing skills, he could play OLB opposite of Babin. At 6'5" 268lbs & still growing, he could be the next Jevon Kearse, or better.

Justin Tuck will be there at #47. Mike Roth could slip to early 2nd round. We need a #2, a CB that can start next year and can learn this year. We need OLB that can pass rush, depth SS an OL-man incase Wand cant handle the position. WR and OLB are the only 2 positions where i think we can draft some one and that person step in and play every down.

There's been a few rumblings about Spencer possibly going late in the first. I personally don't think this will materialize. But there is a very good chance he will be off the board in the second. Besides the Texans, there are several teams needing to upgrade at center. We may have a chance at Spencer at #47, but he could also go a few picks before. Better to move up closer to the top of the second.

And you know for sure that Tuck will be there at our #47 pick, how? I disagree & will stick by my belief that he'll go late 1st or early 2nd, & before our #47 pick.

You didn't know? Royce has "sources" that he has decided to keep anonymous  ...

FWIW I could see Tuck going anywhere from 17 to 41 at the absolute latest...Most likely he'll go in the 20s, IMO...

I'd be ALL about moving up for Mike Williams. You got one fast freak on the right(AJ), one BIG freak on the left(BMW), DCarr would have a field day with that kind of offense.

Merriman is still a question mark to me. Love the size and speed, I just think he'd be a bit raw as a rookie in the 3-4 system. The prospectus of Babin and Merriman on the outside would be pretty sweet in the long run though.

I'd list my tradeup hopefuls...

1.DJ
2.BMW
3.Benson
4.Merriman
5.Rolle

It wouldn't surprise me if he went sooner, but I don't think I'd trade up to take him. I'd just have to shift my attention to one of the other center prospects like, Jason Brown, Richie Incognito, Eric Ghiaciuc, Robert Hunt, or Ben Wilkerson (assuming he's healthy). I'd rather use my first 2 picks on defense.

Yea, I've read a few of his posts & most of them seem to start out with "What I'm hearing..." & "My sources say....". If they're just opinions, then he should say they are just opinions. After all, we all have them. :heh:

There's a guy I work with (sorry, can't reveal my source :heh: ) who's son goes to Notre Dame, that isn't real high on Tucker. But, I can't help but get excited about his potential in the NFL. He's improved his game every year & if he gets in the right system, he could be the next version of Jevon Kearse, Julius Peppers, Kevin Greene, or Willie McGinest. But hey, that's just my opinion.

I've got the best sources on this board, and get this....my sources tell me that......

The Texans play their home games in RELIANT STADIUM!! Keep that to yourselves though because we wouldn't want other NFL teams to figure out where we play our games. It would be disasterous.
