Who will get the 2nd most sacks on the team this year?

Will it be Connor Barwin? Antonio Smith? Amobi Okoye?

Inquiring minds want to know!

I am going with Barwin. I think this year he puts up 8-10 sacks as a situational pass rusher for us. Especially if the coaches let him line up at OLB every now and then.

I think Smith and Okoye are hampered by rushing from the interior. But I am hoping that they collapse the pocket so Mario and Barwin can clean up after them!

I'll go with Barwin. If Cush was there for all 16, I think he would get it.

Antonio Smith.

The guy has been looking like a BEAST this pre-season. Nobody's really been talking about him but he's looking a lot better than he did last year.

Agreed. Smith gets second place with 1.5 sacks less then Mario. Our D-Line is bringin' the fear this year!!

Good question. I'm realistically hoping Barwin or Smith. I hope not Cushing. I'm hoping the front four can generate enough pressure so that Bush doesn't have to call too many blitzes.

In spite of being suspended four games, I think Cushing will be the second most sacker on the Texans. Barwin is not a starter so I think that hampers his ability to rack up sacks.

My top 5 sack predictions:

Mario Williams- 12
Connor Barwin- 8
Antonio Smith- 6
Amobi Okoye- 5 1/2
Brian Cushing- 4

Okoye will have a big year, but Smith has been playing out of his mind during the preseason. I guess it will matter how much he is playing on the interior line on 3rd downs, as that will probably decrease his sack totals.

He's been getting a really good push from the DT position, though. I think he's going to get some of those sacks from there.

Im saying Okoye. I like what Ive seen this preseason. Its this year or the road for ol' Okoye so I think hes gonna play his arse off.

I'm sorry but am I missing the Connor Barwin project? I haven't seen anything from him that excites me. The most exciting play this year on the DL has been Antonio Smith, with Amobi being the surprise so far.

Yeah.... Why would you see anything?? You're still rockin' the pink soap "Fire Kubiak" soap!!! (and thATS, OH SO COOL...

Another douche.bag, full of asshattery!!!!!!!!!

:dontknowa!!!!

I'll guess Barwin at #2 behind Mario. Bush has had a whole year to get these guys ready and work out packages for specific players.

Connor Barwin had 4.5 sacks last year. That was first among rookie defensive ends and 3rd for all rookies. It's also the same number of sacks Mario got his first year. And Connor got it in limited time.

He's been looking much better this preseason. He's been looking faster and his moves have been looking sharper. This will be his 3rd season as a DE and he could make major steps forward.

With all that said, I think Antonio has had a beastly preseason and doesn't get enough credit for it. I also think he had a better season last year than a lot of people realize. I think Antonio is going to have a great season this season. And Amobi has definitely been looking like he's had a light go on this offseason and he could have a monster year, too.

But that doesn't mean that Barwin is a bad choice for this. He could (and hopefully will) have a breakout season.

wtf? I'm entitled to my opinion that definitely does not make me a douche bag, full of asshattery. I'm just not all that hot on Connor Barwin, he's a speed rusher that doesn't have much of any other move yet. Will he develop a good power rush inside, dunno yet. My personal opinion is that he doesn't have the upper body strength to be a dominating DE, and he'll only contribute 5-6 sacks a year.

I'm more impressed with Smith, and hoping that Mario can play a whole year without his "motivational issues".

So what I'm rocking the pink soap, I don't like Kubiak and his style of coaching, it doesn't appeal to me and I don't think you can win consistently with it. If you don't like my pink soap, well don't know what to tell you.

This is ridonkulous. You're not hot on a guy who will probably get 5-6 sacks this and every year (your estimation). Nice hat, ass. [/gee-i-wish-every-player-on-the-Texans-was-a-3time-probowler]

For a guy that is supposed to be a pass rusher, sorry I'd like to see double digits at least.

Only 13 guys in the NFL had double digits last year. And not many of them are situational pass rushers. Double digit sacks isn't an easy accomplishment. Robert Mathis "only" had 9.5, and he is an every down player.

Mathis only started 9 games last year, and was out two years ago, he stayed hurt quite a bit. I would take robert mathis type stats in a heartbear, but 5-6 is a bit low from my view. Of course I have high standards for our team.

Mario Williams...

The sack leader will be the Texans OLINE.

Man "The NFL" you certainly are exposing yourself more and more as a troll that Icak suspected that is here just to blast the Texans.

Carry on though, your posts are quite comical actually.

No, you have stupid standards. It stems from ignorance...

I thought the sack leader was Chuck Norris....I mean in a balls-contest with Lance Armstrong he won by six.
