http://www.neworleansprofootball.com/031405nextlevel.htmlMINNESOTA-DULUTH (March 8th) senior linebacker/defensive end RUSSELL RABE ran between 4.58 and 4.66 in the 40... 37.5" vertical... he is 6024, 235 pounds... a total of eight teams were in attendance, including Detroit, Houston, Indianapolis, Miami, New England, NY Giants, Oakland and San Francisco... his results were done on a very average indoor surface, as he slipped a few times before changing shoes... he would become the school's first-ever linebacker to be drafted... but posting 45.5 career tackles for loss and 29 career sacks should help raise his awareness among scouts... he expects to be one of the busiest guys in April taking 5-7 private visits... scouts also mentioned that he could be a 3-4 OLB or 4-3 WLB.
WEST VIRGINIA (March 11th) junior cornerback ADAM "PACMAN" JONES ran between 4.36 and 4.40 in the 40... some had his times faster... 38.5" vertical and nine reps of 225 pounds... he weighed in at 5096, 187 pounds... some teams felt that he showed good, but not great ball skills and awareness during some of the drills... and physically was smaller than they had thought, but were quick to also mention that he plays "Bigger" on tape... seemed to get additional attention from both Washington and Tennessee... senior running back KAY-JAY HARRIS ran between 4.52 and 4.58 in the 40... some had him as fast as 4.48... 40" vertical... a number of teams have mentioned his ability to catch the ball out of the backfield, and the fact that he has cleared up some of the questions they had about him off-the-field, as being reasons he could be the "LaMont Jordan" of this draft in terms of a guy taken later in the draft that can develop into a starting-caliber back... junior wide receiver CHRIS HENRY ran between 4.42 and 4.48 in the 40... some had him as fast as 4.38... 36" vertical... said that he spoke at length with Pittsburgh, San Diego and Seattle... senior wide receiver/quarterback RASHEED MARSHALL ran between 4.50 and 4.52 in the 40... 41" vertical... he did mostly receiver drills, but also threw some passes, as teams wanted to get a full read on his ability to contribute across the board... senior defensive tackle BEN LYNCH ran between 5.12 and 5.20 in the 40... 1.75 10-yard... 2.96 20-yard... 4.49 short shuttle... 7.19 three-cone... 29.5" vertical... 8'7.5" broad jump and also did 19 reps of 225 pounds... weighed in at 6026, 288 pounds... senior linebacker ADAM LENHORTT weighed in at 6030, 230 pounds... did not workout due to a pulled hamstring, but has been rehabbing with the hopes of performing for scouts at the end of this month... Pittsburgh head coach Bill Cowher and Houston head coach Dom Capers were both among the 80-plus scouts/coaches in attendance
TEXAS TECH (March 11th) senior offensive lineman DYLAN GANDY was not able to complete the bench press, as he felt a strain in his left pectoral muscle, which is a minor injury he suffered at the Combine... ran 7.68 three-cone and improved upon both his vertical 31" and broad jump 8'11" from the Combine... weighed in at 6030, 299 pounds... teams are evaluating him as both a center and guard... Baltimore, Carolina, Houston, Jacksonville and Kansas City have all shown additional interest in him, since the Combine... senior offensive tackle DANIEL LOPER ran between 5.22 and 5.29 in the 40... 4.81 short shuttle... 7.78 three-cone... 8'9.5" broad jump and also did 19 reps of 225 pounds... weighed in at 6056, 313 pounds... improved upon his times, but his lack of ideal weight room strength is concerning... but did show good footwork and technique at left tackle during the Hula Bowl practices, which should work in his favor come draft day... senior offensive lineman CODY CAMPBELL ran between 5.08 and 5.14 in the 40... did 22 reps of 225 pounds... 27" vertical... 8'4" broad jump... weighed in at 6026, 311 pounds... moves very well; will fit in well for a team that likes to pull and trap a lot... keep an eye on teams like Atlanta, Denver, Green Bay and San Francisco to pickup a kid like this between the 5th-and-7th round... senior quarterback SONNY CUMBIE ran between 5.18 and 5.25 in the 40... 4.62 short shuttle... 7.61 three-cone... 24" vertical... 7'8" broad jump... weighed in at 6032, 224 pounds... lumbered during certain portions of the drills portion of his workout... a pure pocket-passer type... can look slow and mechanical at times... not in the same class as Kliff Kingsburry or even B.J. Symons... senior defensive end ADELL DUCKETT ran between 4.92 and 4.95 in the 40... 4.38 short shuttle... 7.16 three-cone... 9'0" broad jump and also did 18 reps of 225 pounds... weighed in at 6032, 262 pounds... pretty consistent pass rusher on the field, but not an overly impressive tester... runs high on his 40-times... more of a situational type guy at the next level... senior wide receiver/return man NEHEMIAH GLOVER ran between 4.62 and 4.65 in the 40... 34" vertical... 4.24 short shuttle... 7.12 three-cone... 9'5" broad jump... at least a total of 16 teams were in attendance for this workout.
WASHINGTON (March 11th) senior offensive tackle KHALIF BARNES did onlypositional drills, as he felt comfortable with his results at the Combine... mentioned Houston, Jacksonville, Philadelphia, San Diego, St. Louis, Seattle and Tennessee as teams that have shown more interest than most, but said across the board he has gotten a lot attention, since the Senior Bowl... Seattle, Tennessee, Jacksonville and Philadelphia have all setup private visits with him... senior cornerback DERRICK JOHNSON ran between 4.45 and 4.48 in the 40... did positional drills after that, as he was happy with his results from the Combine... senior fullback ZACH TUIASOSOPO did 21 reps of 225 pounds.
WOOSTER, MA senior running back TONY SUTTON, a Division III prospect who played in this year's Hula Bowl, had received attention from Baltimore, Houston, Jacksonville, San Francisco and St. Louis.
SYRACUSE (March 16th) senior offensive tackle ADAM TERRY did positional drills for scouts/coaches, as he was satisfied with his Combine numbers... seemed to get close attention from both Houston and Jacksonville, as well as St. Louis, Seattle and Buffalo... senior fullback GREG HANOIAN (#35) ran between 4.70 and 4.78 in the 40... 32.5" vertical... 9'4" broad jump and also did 27 reps of 225 pounds... weighed in at 6016, 260 pounds... gave himself a chance with these results to be seriously considered between a PFA and FA grade.
