who do you think is houston's top 13 choices..
I got to go with Warrens except I'd flip 3 and 4

I guess nobody is considering Thomas Davis a good value at 13 idonno:

He has the size and the speed to play MLB for us.

The only thing that would be questionable about him is his coverage skills, but I heard he is a extremely good tackler though. Davis and Greenwood would do some serious damage at the LB positions :thumbup

Sorry bout that Vinny ;)

Thomas Davis, center, is known for his lateral quickness, closing speed and passion.

• SS/OLB Thomas Davis (Georgia)
Vital statistics: 6 foot 1, 230 pounds, 4.52 in the 40.
Numbers game: In high school, played eight positions, including quarterback at one point. As a redshirt freshman and in his sophomore season, alternated between safety and strong-side linebacker. Played in 39 games, starting 29, and had 272 tackles, 17 tackles for loss, 10½ sacks, 27 pressures, three interceptions, nine passes defensed, six forced fumbles and nine recoveries. Blocked two punts and returned one for a score. Also scored a touchdown on an interception return. A consensus All-American and all-SEC in 2004 and a semifinalist for the Bednarik Award.
Upside: Incredible, freaky size, and moves well for such a big man. Explosive tackler who hits with a naturally rising action and drives through in textbook fashion. Can really de-cleat a ball carrier or receiver and is always looking for the knockout hit. Will put the fear of God in anyone who crosses through his zone. Good lateral quickness and closing speed. Tough and nasty and plays with passion. Loves the game and competes hard on every snap.
Downside: Kind of an in-between player, and some teams still aren't sure whether he is a safety or a weak-side linebacker. A little tight in the hips and doesn't always take good angles in pursuit. Not a great change-of-direction defender. Does not show great range, even when sitting back in a zone, and can't play single coverages. At times, a flat-out liability in pass coverage. Not exactly a ballhawk.
The dish: Size-speed ratio is jaw-dropping, and his lights-out hitting style is compelling. He's a certain first-rounder, perhaps in the top half of the round, but the team that takes him is going to have to design things so that he plays in the box, where he should be a huge component in stopping the run.

I like Thomas Davis quite a bit. We could groom him for ILB to eventually take Wongs spot. The dude is fast and hard hitting and like Bottleobud says he already can cover because he played safety.

He is on my top 13 board for the Texans just behind pacman jones.

Braylon Edwards
Derrick Johnson
Antrel Rolle
Ronnie Brown
Mike Williams
Marcus Spears
Shawne Merriman
Troy Williamson
Adam Jones
Thomas Davis
Demarcus Ware
Mark Clayton
Carlos Rogers

this is from Thomas Davis' chat on ESPN

Knoxville Tennessee: How did it feel to get smoked like a little girl against Tennessee this year?

Thomas Davis : It probably felt the same way as the previous few years when we smoked them.

LMAO!!!!!

I'm not sure of their full board, but Rolle is definitely on it...

Miami (Fla.)'s Antrel Rolle, who brings a physical, in-your-face style, is regarded as the No. 1 cornerback on many teams' draft boards. But there's debate when considering his lack of blazing speed (4.49 to 4.52 seconds for 40 yards). "A lot has been written about Rolle's speed," Houston Texans GM Charley Casserly says. "Some people have projected him to safety. You think about guys like Ty Law, (Patrick) Surtain and (Sam) Madison. None of them were big speed guys. They all ran 4.5s. They've all gone on to numerous Pro Bowls. Rolle, I think, will be that style of corner."

You can also be pretty sure Benson and DJ are on their top 13, since they've both been in town for visits...Others are probably Ware and Pac-Man, who they're rumored to like...

Liability in Pass coverage? The guy is a safety, he was born in the ZONE! The dude also has the "Passion of Dunta" and a little hint of "Angry Dre". Qualities for which guided our last two number one picks. :whew

I no longer see any reason why Thomas Davis is not our pick #13. Imagine, we will have not only have the fastest weak ILB on football, the ILB with coverage skills, but he will also flat out layeht the goods on any fool who is foolish enough to cross the zone. Tell you what, Foreman never layed anybody out, Thomas will make sure they dont get up easy.

**ahem** as I remember..... "Nobody in the Texans Defense puts fear on you".... I am talking about fear of God here folks......

I am sorry but I thought Drob put the "Fear of God" into some WR's last year.

True, but we need someone that makes a RB scared to run in between the tackles and will obliterate WRs coming over the middle, and TD can/will do that...I'm not sure if Cass being quiet on him is a good thing or bad thing, though...

1. Alex Smith
2. Aaron Rodgers
3. Braylon Edwards
4. Ronnie Brown
5. D.J.
6. Mike Williams
7. Antrell Rolle
8. Shawne Merriman
9. Cedric Benson
10. Cadillac Williams
11. Pac-man Jones
12. Alex Barron
13. ?????????

These guys should all be gone before we pick unless we trade up or they fall for some reason (I believe one or two of these guys will fall). This is my top 12 so if these guys are gone we should have guys like Carlos Rogers, Thomas Davis, DeMarcus Ware, Troy Williamson available to us. That's pretty good imo.

I agree Nawzer, but Miami will not pick a QB with that pick, no reason to when they will have a chance at the best guy next season. Look for Adam Jones and D.J. to fall a bit more than you think, but I like C-Rogers and Thomas Davis. I think both of these guys have tremendous heart and a never ending mean streak that we need for our team.

The list wasn't based on the draft order. That's just my top 12 players of the draft. But I do believe that those two QBs will go top 10..where? I don't know. My point is that we will have some pretty good players to choose from regardless of what some people think. They may not start for us right away but they will be important contributers to our team.
