Whispering in Brett Favre's Ear

Dime

Did anyone happen to catch on sportscenter at one NFL voter notice that when, during our Green Bay Game, and the final play when the reciever did not get out of bounds, the ref ran up to Favre and told him time was still going. Brett only then (which he didnt realize time was about to expire for the winning field goal), called for a time out. The NFL Observer question if the same action would have been done for Carr. :hmmm:

That shouldn't even be allowed period. Refs are supposed to be neutral.

He told him with 5 seconds left on the clock... By the time Brett understood, and called time out.. 3 seconds went off. He wouldnt have called it because he didnt reliaze it was still in. That action by the ref kept Green Bay in the game for the field goal. That just is WRONG! We havent got to many fair shakes from ref (we are not the only ones), {like hits on Carr, etc} but that one is a bit too far. :um:

How do we know what the referee even said to Brett? I've seen QBs tell the ref they're going to call a timeout with such and such amount of time left on the playclock. How do we know a similar circumstance wasn't happening in this situation? The ref could've asked Brett when does he want to call the timeout or something along those lines. Even if the ref bleeds green and gold it still doesn't change the outcome of the game. Our defense allowed GB to charge down the field to position themselves for that FG, and we lost the game fair and square.

You can clearly make out the ref saying "The clock still running" to brett

That's fine. We didn't deserve to win the GB game anyway. To be honest I thought the guy was shoved out of bounds.

I still feel that it wasn't a luxury afforded to any other QB or Head Coach in the NFL. We lost that game in the second half, and the refs weren't responsible for us losing. The Packers deserved to win that game, and we didn't.
