Greetings all....

HOW DARE THEY BECOME SO ARROGANT!

I love my TEXANS......but gee, they have become money hungry, now haven't they. We enter upon a season of 2005 with the expectations of entering into the playoffs for the first time in franchise history.......we finally wake up upon the season's end to a 2-14 gridiron nightmare on Kirby Street.......

........they finally announce the signings of a new head coach, along with what some of us may call the strangest crew of assistant coaches imaginable........ and then they immediately throw out a new marketing campaign aimed at keeping our attention upon the ultimate objective........ of the day our franchise becomes responsible for winning a championship for our great city.....

I WILL BE STANDING UPON THE FRONT ROW DURING DRAFT DAY 2006!

......along with legions of my great pals waiting to see if the TEXANS BRASS COMPLETE THE ULTIMATE TRANSACTION....... THE DRAFTING OF VINCE YOUNG AS OUR #1 PICK!


For if this is indeed the case, as it should be........then I will surely be ecstatic to the point of immediately renewing my season tickets, buying new apparel, you know......the works!

BUT LORD FORBID IF THEY DRAFT OTHERWISE........

I will be at the draft party in Houston. I had a lead on some VIP passes to NYC, but I can't travel right now. :(

As much as I love VY, circumstances are likely gonna mean that we don't take him. So you might as well get used to that. I am learning to love Reggie after a season of being so sick of his name being used as a mantra to lose.

If I hear anybody booing at the party, well, I will likely be wearing pointy boots and I know how to use them. :superman:

Nevertheless, you sound as though you indeed love the VY.......now listen to me, don't you dare falter in your beliefs ok! For what I have been reading upon many of your prior post, and believe me I have read many........not only are you a well versed lady........but you seem like a real TEXAN!

Greetings back, oh royal highness guy, butterfly or whatever grandboobahness you would prefer....

I'm not quite sure what you want me to do. It is completely possible to think that VY is something special without being delusional enough to believe that there is a high probability that the Texans are gonna take him.

The Texans staff are still stating that they are evaluating film blah blah blah, but given the moves so far, Mr. McNair's belief that Carr can take them to the Superbowl,* his stated intention to get more tools around him, and his desire to win immediately, I just don't think it is likely we take VY.

So if keeping my guns stuck and my beliefs unfaltered could actually do anything, well then, I guess I would do that sort of thing. I believe that VY is completely a legit #1 pick, I believe that it is completely supportable position, and I actually own 3 "Draft Vince" t-shirts--but that being said, when even John McClain is finally admitting that the Texans are unlikely to pick Vince, well then, there is this thing called reality that is a handy thing to embrace.

Though I think that Vince is amazing, I must say that if we don't take him, I hope he does well for a team I am indifferent about, and I hope that the person(s) we get instead make that choice a good one.

But you just never know. One way or another, the draft usually means that when you look back at posts in retrospect, a certain percentage of those posts are going to be unintentionally funny.

What I hope we can all agree to, in all capital letters, is......

Monarch, you are at least funny if not misguided. Thanks for putting a fresh face on the same Vince juicing that has been getting tiresome for the last three months or so.

I kid, I kid. This thread is indeed amusing, in that same way that monkeys flinging poo at the zoo amuses me. I'm a simple man, so it doesn't take much (my three year old provides infinite amusement to me, too). :D

Hope you're still a Texans fan when the dust settles and Mr. Young is employed by another team, though. Good luck with that transition. :howdy:

It seems like you and me are riding the same wagon. I dont mind exercises in futility, so i'll still campaign for vince with the #1 pick, but im aware we probably wont go in that direction. Its good to know that at least im not alone...even if my backup is the crazy monarch guy

Why are you annointing me as CRAZY? Is it just because I do not straddle the fence in regards to making my decisions........and I simply UPHOLD MY CONVICTIONS.....

If you and the others really pay attention to my post, you will have to discern that not only do I have a broad sense of humor.....but if you would read between the lines a bit, you will then realize that I do not mind entertaining the truth.......

FIRST AND FOREMOST I AM A PROFESSIONAL......but I do indeed love my HOUSTON TEXANS!

......let's just hope that they love us as well........

I dont particularly mean crazy in the bad sense of the word......just more as in your bolding and font choice strikes me as somebody who probably is a little bit left of sane...like myself. It was more of a compliment.
