Where was Braman and Jean??

didnt see them in the game today.

Braman played with the 2s when Nading came out hurt.

I haven't heard what Nading's problem is/was. But Braman played most of the 3rd quarter. He looked pretty good, didn't get any stats but he was out there and active while Brooks was destroying it on the other side.

They didn't get many snaps. This was mainly 1st and 2nd teams. They'll be able to show their worth in the 4th preseason game.

Braman actually ended up playing most of the 3rd and possibly most of the 4th quarters with the twos. He didn't get much in the way of stats, though.

I saw Braman get a couple of good pressures. He played well when he was in there. Jean hardly saw the field (I don't even remember seeing him)...Jacoby got a lot of playing time as did Darling and Dickerson.

Thought I heard Braman's name mention once. Leinert did not do any of the WRs a favor. He was allo over the field but seldom close to a receiver. Not as impressed with him as I was last week. Of course, his line did not offer him much protection either.

They each had one good game during the first game of the preseason.

I know people around here like to get carried away about Texans players, both in their enthusiasm and their disdain. However, a strong showing in one preseason game does not establish a player as a legitimate NFL player.

Which is probably why some people wanted to see them back out there tonight.

I was hoping they would play well again tonight, too. However, since that obviously did not happen, perhaps we need to consider the possibility that our first impression of these guys may not be enough for the coaches to base a final roster decision on.

You did, he made a tackle on special teams that might have broke for a home run had he not. I swear, ST's are really scaring the **** out of me.

The scariest part about it is teams are going past the 25 despite returning it deep in their own endzone.

I saw one play were Braman had made a move to get past the RT only to get face-masked with no flag thrown on the play. I felt the referees were a little inconsistent tonight.

I coulda sworn I saw Braman in on a couple plays with the 2's ....

Braman played quite a bit . His best play was on the McCain int . He read the back coming out of the back field for a swing pass and covered him . Daniels had to reload on the run and over threw the WR .

Braman was out there for many plays in the 3rd and 4th. Watching from the stands, I saw him make some good moves. He was getting held a lot, which is a good sign that he's beating his guy. I'm hopeful that he gets more reps and gets onto our team. I think he just needs more reps and he'll probably be a solid depth guy.

Jean played 2-3 plays in the 3rd quarter and came out. I think he was hurt during those plays. Hopefully he comes back.

Hard to say who's going to make the roster for our WRs. Johnson,Walter,Jacoby, and a 3 way battle between Dickerson, Darling, and Jean

I could have sworn I saw Nading back on the field late in the 4th, so I don't hin his injury is that much to be concerned over.

Here's the play I was talking about .

I have two theories on this:

1.) Gotta' remember that Kubiak and Phillips probably don't want to risk losing guys like Braman and Jean to a preseason injury. They saw them in action in the first game, saw what they can do, and therefore no need to overdo it. This allows Wade and Gary to get others out on the field, and see them in action like they did Braman and Jean.

2.) I also wonder if Wade was tinkering around with Reed and Braman, switching up their roles a bit. If you remember last week, it seemed Braman was rushing the QB every single down. This week, it looked like Reed was doing the QB rushing, and Braman was playing more outside contain.

Wade is probably trying every sort of trick he's got up his sleeve, trying to evaluate and see who can do what. Preseason is for experimentation.

Braman has got some pop coming off the line . He fired off and stood the OT up with a shove to the pads .

The 4th preseason game where be when we get to see if these guys are legit, or just guys that look good against backups.
