You can't get to the SuperBowl thinking you'll have a .500 season. Realistically, we have to believe we can win everygame..

We've got offense, we've got defense, now it's time to see what the coaces can do.

Whose this "we". I didn't realize you played on the team. :ok:

P.S Your not gonna beat the Redskins or Colts. No offense, but you will be demolished by those teams. Stop thinking you can beat those teams homer... But you can beat Oakland, that'll be a good game...

ooohhhh..... the redskins looked good in '05, I ain't gonna lie....... But we gone take em.......... & the Colts too.

I didn't know that guy in your avatar played on the team either, but I wasn't going to say anything..........:ok:

I want to add that my assessment of the record sounds bleak, but the encouragement will be that most of these will be close games. I think the Texans will be able to keep up with the team, unlike the last few years when we either could never catch the team or blew a lead. We could have half our losses by 7 points or less.

9-7 we will reach that easily. BUT what I REALLY WANT is an offense that looks like it knows what they are doing. It was just sad watching the same plays over and over again. I look forward to a season like 2003, I know we went 5-11 but soooooo many close games- WE WERE FIGHTING AND THE CROWD WAS YELLING :yahoo: . 6 games that we lost that year were by an average of 4.5 pts, and most of them were in the 4 qt. We even took the Patriots to overtime.
I loved that season. -In 2003, there were 3 Jets fans in my row during that game (2 were my brothers from NY) and late in the 4th, the jets scored and took the lead (by 4)- they were talking alot of smack. Then JJ almost broke one and ran it back to the other 20yd line and the stadium went NUTS. Next a bunch of us in the section "jumped" the 3 of them. (not the kind of beating that has someone going to jail -but the kind of "hello, welcome to my backyard" slugfest that happens between friends) and it was great.
That type of fight and atmosphere is what we need again at Reliant Stadium. We must make sure that other teams don't want to play here because of the CROWD NOISE!!! and that Mario Williams is going to put a hurt on them.

i'm glad to see so much optimism. after the announcement of mario williams you'd thing everyone would say 0-16. glad to see everyone is looking optimistic. the majority have us at 6-10, 7-9, 8-8. and there are many who believe we can do more. great support guys. :redtowel:

5-11, Which is good from being a 2-14 team the season before. Your offensive Line is still questionable. Those prospects you drafted could potientially be good starters but its gonna take time to learn Kubiaks system, adjust to the NFL, and adjust to the new media and surroundings. Then towards your defense...Its still not gonna be that good... Rookies take time to adjust to the NFL. 6-10 or 5-11 is a realistic record for the Texans next season and a Top 10 Pick.

check yourself homer kubiak and mike sherman are both teachers and kubiak is a hands on type coach not one who needs someone to remind him to take his meds... you might want to check out this coaching staff it is as good or better than yours...money is nice when hiring folks.:yahoo:

I disagree we played the Colts tough all but 2 times and IF we would have had a D I think we may have 1-2 of the other games against them. This year we win one from them 6-10 to 8-8,although 10-6 is not out of the question.

I keep hearing about this rookie and college to NFL adjustment and how many years and blah blah blah Learning a new system yes but this is the latest roster and how many non-vets do you see for this year and they just signed Salaam offensive tackle from the Jags 7 year vet...(NFL years in bold) 90 on roster...17 rookies-7 top draft choices.

6-10 probably safe pick
7-9 catch a break somewhere
8-8 with little luck and heart
9-7 steal one from Indy and Jax
10-6 probably best case possible- beat Indy,Jax,NYG,Was-- and DAL!! but lose to PhL in week 1.... ohh yeah and a sweep of TEN! add 3 other wins through out the year- I think people would go crazy with a record like this, which would give us a small chance at a Wild card-- I really think 8-8 is possible but may be a little high-- probably 6 or 7 wins

I think at the min we should have won 4-5 games last season, Texans had me wondering if they were throwing games at one point

typically when i'm this excited about something, it turns out either REAL good or REAL bad. however, i voted 8-8. we have all the makings of a 10+ win team, but it's hard to expect anything that dramatic from a team which only won 2 games the previous season.

remember, we could've easily had 6 wins last season if not for fluke losses. rams, 49'ers, baltimore, and tennessee were all games that should've been guaranteed victories. coaching staff alone gets us those extra 4 wins back.

Your right we could've have won them 6 games and most of them in the latter part of the season were done when we were ahead by at least 10 points and in the 4th quarter. Well the other teams offense went right on through our well needed defense and then the loss. If we had a good improved defense just to think that we may have posted instead 6 more wins.

I predicted 9-7, but anything over 8-8 wouldnt suprise me unless the texans go all indy on us. I think that we will finally beat Indy this year. We will be much improved over any of the past texans teams.

I don't know why..... but I visited the Jaguars board.......

I hope we sweep them faukers.......

DONE! ITS IN THE BOOKS! Leftwich wont know what to do when super mario eats his magical shroom.

Ok lets see
Sweep Tenn
Split Jax, Indy 4-2 in division

2-2 against NFC East W's- Philly, Dal
2-2 against AFC East W's- NYJ, Buff
Oakland Win
Cleavland Win
10 - 6 not out of the question

i voted 9-7 but i'm gonna hafta change that and go 10-6.

we'll sweep the titans
swap with the jags
We'll finally beat the colts-once

i said it from the start..you will games in the trenches and we went shopping for trenchmen in the off-season-and found some potential dandies. We even went down the snack aisle and bought ourselves a few offensive treats (putzier, moulds)

nice.

9-7 minimum this year. we are building a dynasty, gentlemen (and ladies, texans chick) and we are starting this year. Go ahead and be negative if you want. Kubes and the gang will win you back. and we'll welcome you back and not slam you (much) for being short-sighted.

Go TEXANS 10-6 season!!!

Said 8-8, but will be disappointed with anything less than 9-7. The Front Office said we were not starting over, so I will look at last year as an aberration. My thoughts before last season began where a least one playoff game. This season I will not go that far, I say the honeymoons over and its time for the Texans to put up or shut up.

I voted 8-8 but if we have a better record you will not hear me complaining. I think we were aggressive last year, we just didn't have the players to be successful.
Someone drug test this fan!!!! :spy: We were aggressively predictable at best. I see 9-7 because it feels right and it feels good. I see 25 TD passes, 15 rushing TD's, 3 return TD's, 3 defensive TD's and 41 sacks. They call me...NOSTRODOMUS. Well really, they call me "Tater Salad", but I like NOSTRODOMUS better.:fans: :stirpot: :texflag:
