Practice Squad
1. As long as Dilfer is in the league Carr, will never be the worst QB in the league.

2. Whatever you do, DO NOT draft a QB from Fresno State.

I'm beginning to understand Carr much better now. Dilfer is his hero and mentor. He plays just like him.

3. Cleveland is a REALLY bad team.

For some reason I found your post really funny. And probably for the most part very true.

I think as long as Joey Harrington is in the league David Carr will never be the worst quarterback.

I'd like someone to name 1 team that ever went to the playoffs with an offensive line as bad as ours.

That's probably the case. The Browns defense came into the game with lowest sack total in the league. But, I'd like to think the Texans' line will come out of this game with a bit of confidence. It's an important part of an athlete's makeup, and it has been lacking on this line (and this team) for quite awhile.

Carr actually had time to throw.
With the coaching staffs discovery of a new combination of OL personnel led by LT Chester Pitts, they're showing spurts of competance as a descent OL unit. Dang, didn't we have somebody named Pitts playing LT for us the first
couple years ? Nah, couldn't be the same guy, that name must be just a
coincidence.

That is a really great post. Don't see how any confidence can come from a game like that. They play the same poor game.

These two teams ought to play each other often - for a pick-me-up!
Cleveland can keep their punter ... what was that? ... 15yds and then one for 5 or 6.
And even though he missed one... Thank you (again) Kris Brown!

Didn't Dilfer play w/ the Ravens the year they won the Superbowl?

Indeed. This world has many mysteries and many of them may never be solved. Bigfoot, Unidentified Flying Objects, The Loch Ness Monster, David Hasselhoffs career, and of course Trent Dilfers Super Bowl Ring.

Hopefully someday we'll be able to explain some or maybe even all of these things. For now the tough ones like how Trent got that ring must simply go unsolved.

He had a decent line and when given time Trent Does not throw ints. With the Ravens D this was enough to win. He played very well that year.

their line may be bad now, but it was not then. kurt warner didnt become a household name without having time to make his throws.

It proves we are still a bad team if we have to take the Browns down to the wire.......even at home.

i was referring to last year the rams allowed 51 sacks.

I'd like someone to name 1 team that ever went to the playoffs with an offensive line as bad as ours<<<<< and thats what i was Replying too:yahoo:

Human nature I suppose.

Lets enjoy the win, it might be the only one we get this year.

cac: :coffee:

The rams also had Marshal Faulk, who is one of (if not) the best pass blocking RBs in the league. He is the major reason they could go into 3-4 wr sets and run deep patterns without giving up alot of sacks.

heh-heh, my friends were shocked to hear on the radio that Dilfer and Carr were good friends. They said the same thing. :heh:

I think DC is a much better QB, at least with regards to raw potential. Dilfer is my no. 1 example of a team that puts together a great defense, and then builds a solid O-line for a basic offensive game that won't lose games. I remember an interview with Ray Lewis after they won the Superbowl, and his advice to Dilfer was to avoid mistakes and not lose the game, and the D would take care of the rest.

After our 7-9 season last year, I really thought the kind of team that Coach Capers was trying to build was a powerful D with an offense that can put some points on the board without making mistakes. Then they get rid of all the defensive leadership and my "understanding" of Capers' strategy went out the window. But my impression is that he wanted a team much like the Steelers or the Ravens when they won their championship.

This game proves that when we throw the ball we have a chance to win.
This game proves that when Buchanan plays up on his man he is at least a decent DB.
This game proves that Carr still does not trust his O-Line.
This game proves that Capers is really out of here!!
This game proves that we might win more than 4 games this year.
