I'm saying defensive line..... We don't know what we are going to do in FA yet, so we really don't know. But I do feel you can get some great talent, immediate impact players on defense, high in the draft.

Agreed that FA might make a difference but for now i put O-LINE.

While I think TE is the weakest area on our team, I think O-line is a bigger need. They both need to be drafted IMO.

While I think we are only 1 or 2 players away from the o-line, the past four years have shown that we DESPERATELY need those players. Without them, we are still just throwing DC to the lions and have no offense.

I have to go D-Line. We are two players away on the O-line, maybe even just one, but the D-Line is only has guys at one position so we are at least 3-4 away there. Mario Williams and a much stronger Peek, Babin, Pettway, cheap FA or low draft pick away from a dangerous pass rush.

i agree that O-line should be a no brainer, which is what i voted for, but LB & TE are the biggest defficiancies after that IMO.

DE. The Texans can get some decent offensive lineman later in the draft, but it's hard to land a dominate pass rushing DE.

The biggest single-position need is:
DE
interior OL
OT
TE
MLB
CB

The biggest area of need is:
OLine
DLine
TE
DBs
LBs

Yes, for all you trade down fans O-line is the problem. However that doesn't mean we have to use our first pick on one.

I voted Oline, I don't care if it is addressed in the first round, but it needs to be addressed on the first day. Also, we should draft 1 or 2 more on the second day. With Kubiak and Sherman, the Oline should look very different next year.

True, and it's at least twice as hard to find an elite LT outside of the top ten picks as it is a pass rushing DE. Both are hard to come by but the LT is much harder.

I think either would be a good choice. I don't know which is really harder to come by, but with Kubiak I don't think we need an OT in the first. On that note I would be happy if we did draft Fergeson.

coincidentally, we are one player away from having a decent tight end

Well, we were both the worst pass-blocking team and the worst run defence in the league last year, but while the atrocious pass-blocking made our offense bad, our atrocious tackling made our defense the worst in recent NFL history. If we're talking about the one position of greatest need, I think it's ILB, but if we're talking about the general area of greatest need it probably is the O-line. That's not to say that if we trade down I'd advocate taking Hawk or whoever over Ferguson - outstanding linebackers can often be had later on the first day (just look at Thurman and Tatupu), whereas top OTs very rarely come from outside the top ten, and top ten OTs bust less often than any other position.

Assuming we keep Carr as the starter - DE, MLB, OL, TE, CB

We do not have a legit prototype DE and MLB. Supposedly we will run quite a bit cover 2 so in that case we will need a more physical corner opposite Dunta. At least one new player on the O-line and at TE are a given. We will also need a goal line back. I'm not big on Wells as a power back in short yardage....and don't think he will be here anyway.

All I know is I've waited four years for Bosselli to heal, Seth Wand to pan out and Pitts to make the transition from LG to LT. I sit here today wondering what Derrick Johnson would've looked like in the middle of our 4-3 defense. For that reason I have no doubt we'll do just the opposite of all logic and draft Bush/ Young. Mind boggleing.
