I couldn't help myself. I voted for Brink. I just didn't want his confidence to take that knock from checking out his new teams website and seeing that nobody was pleased that they drafted him.
You go get some Alex Brink! You da' MAN!
well we did get Myers in the 6th and he should start for us![]()
I'll answer this once I can see them play. Right now every team in the league feels good about their draft.

It's a toss up for me between Slaton & Adibi. They both represent good value, and they both have a potential to be playmakers in the NFL. I voted for Adibi but both are certainly deserving. I really like the Okam & Molden picks too.
I've never seen so much disapproval of a 7th round pick lol. You'd think that by picking him the entire draft was ruined according to some people lol.
You know, I think Slaton has the potential to be that first RB in what I hope becomes a fairly long line of RB's who come here unheralded (at least by NFL "first round" standards), play in our offense behind our zone blocking offensive line and then finds himself later traded for a higher pick down the road following a few successful years here (whereupon we promptly plug some other young fellow in and he does the exact same thing Slaton did before we traded him).
At least that's the way I'd like to think this is going to go.
Steve Slaton future Pro-Bowler

Not so much down on the guy as the fact that other better weapons were available , and if it was a useless pick why not trade it for a better one .
Have we ever had a draft where at this time of the year we had so many players who we thought could potentially come in and be contributors for this football team? Maybe the 06 draft, but at the same time we hadn't experienced a rookie impact like that draft before so we didn't know how good they were at the time.
The Titans don't. You should see the boards.
I voted for Steve Slaton. Hoping he can turn into a DD/W type player. Just needs to bulk up.
No sir. If Slaton is a beast (say he turns into one), why would you trade him away? You keep him and let him wreck for years. You can add in the new young blood with Slaton still here. Both can wreck. You can have a Houston wrecking machine.
And on Cromartie, part of me thinks he was hyped up more because of his last name. There is a unrelated guy in the NFL with that last name, who plays the same position. I don't know, maybe I'm reaching.
This is the second time i've seen DD being compared to slaton & about the only ways these guys are similar is in stature.
Slaton was a very accomplished Collegiate, DD really wasn't.
Slaton speed to burn, DD not so much.
Slaton also probably has the edge hands wise too.
this guy was brought in to do something that DD couldn't do- be a breakaway back so if this guy ends up like DD he will be considered a bust even taking into consideration where he was drafted.

See what you're saying but perhaps approached it wrong. Slaton has better all around tools to work with so the expectations for his production is higher.
DD was at best a change of pace back who was put into the starting lineup because no one else could tote the rock good as he did. He didn't complain about the pounding he took all he did was lineup and did what the coaching staff asked him to do. That translated into a guy who had a couple thousand yard rushing years and was a threat out of the backfield. All thing considered with a makeshift OL and David Carr as the the QB that to me is an imaginable feat. When there becomes a Texans HOF or something similar I hope he's the first guy deservingly inducted.
As for Slaton I think the way this coaching staff will use him should give N.O. ideas on how to use Reggie Bush, you know that 2nd overall pick, who is a season away from bustdom.
