What are you doing Capers!!!!!!!

Practice Squad
In my opinion Dom Capers is not a very inteligent coach you look at the offence line they all look flat. the team just does not lookready to play some ball. Now dont get me wrong im a HUGE FAN but it reall make me angry when i watch and i see flat and to me its up to thw head coach to get the guys in shape. hes a good starter coach but IT IS TIME FOR YOU TO GO CAPERS. :brickwall THAT IS WHAT WE HAVE HIT IN TEXAS.during the raiders game i was watching our defence get run all over the field in the first half it was disgusting. WE ALL WANT WINS NOW DOM MAKE IT HAPPEN OR PACK YOUR BAGS AND MOVE BACK TO CAROLINA. Now this is just my opinion but i know lots of others that feel the same way. BUT AS ALWAYS I WILL SUPPORT THE TEXANS AND DOWN WITH THE COWGIRLS NEXT WEEK.

TEXAN PRIDE :texflag:

if we dont make it to the play-offs this year i feel he will be gone. unless we win 10 games and still dont get in than i see him staying !

Zach did not play. Seth started in his place. Victor started in Seths place. For all of that to happen in the last week and Carr not get sacked. I think I would at least wait till regular season to start the "fire Dom" threads.

Dom Capers has been given 5 years to make a solid team, and make a contender... which we are now, we have a chance to at the least, be a winning club for the first time barring significant injuries. its all progress. if we break into the playoffs this year, or next year, you will see Dom stay around a few more years. Dom has done nothing to show us that this team isn't headed in the right direction... and to put all the blame on Dom's shoulders for his defense getting ran on last night, there is a D Coordinator, oh and a little thing called players, they are supposed to be the ones making the plays out there.

hes had 3 years its time to show progress

ummm going from 4-12, to 5-11, to 7-9... is progress

I don't think Capers is the long term solution for this team but I agree with this statement.

You can't judge ANYTHING by watching a preseason game.

C'mon guys don't y'all know that we were destined to win the Super Bowl last year, and only reason we didn't was because of Capers. :brickwall

The team has increased its win total each year, played significantly better each year, and most of the NFL experts (analyists and other FO types) say Capers is the best man to start a new franchise. I may agree that this is the year for Capers, but these threads are pointless now; and will be even more pointless if this teams leaves up to expectation.

ANd how many of y'all think Capers is gameplanning/coaching during the preseason games? Cause I really don't think he is.

I also am not so high on Capers I think you guys should have gotten someone else to be your coach and if they playoffs are not reached by you guys this year Capers is gone I would believe

I would expect an answer like that from a Jaguars fan. Seriously, what would you rather have the other up and coming team in your division do?

a) Fire their coach and bring in someone new who'll "reset" damn near everything ala Butch Davis in Cleveland or

b) Hang in there and not freak because the team only reached .500 or a game over, hold the course and continue to improve.

We'd all like a basket case franchise in our division to pick on but don't count on the Texans becoming one in the AFC South. That title officially belongs to the Oile....err Titans.

Excellent post.

Why does everyone keep saying "its time to show progress" ?????

Our stats have been better every year (in most catagories) and our Win - Loss ratio has improved every year.

that is the very definition of progress.

Dont say "its time to show progress" when you really mean "its time to be one of the best teams in the league"

We were an expansion team... it took us two years just to become as good as the worst team in the league. The normal rebuilding phase for a team is about 5 years.. we are going to do it in 3 (2 years to get on par, 3 years to become good).

at least give capes his 5 years before you call for his head.

This thread is a joke.

I love the threads that start out... "The Texans Suck, but dont get me wrong, Im a huge fan"

Classic Houston Texans Fan post. Wait until we go down in our Win total before you start with the "Capers gotta go" threads.

thats funny, i just replied to a post like that DC :)

You hit the nail on the head! We have very little to be exited about this year. No drastic changes in our O line, a mediocre receiving core, zero pass rush and a "D+" defensive secondary. I'm a huge Texans fan

thats gotta be one of the best quotes right there. We have nothing to be excited about.. every aspect of our team sucks. Im a huge fan. lol

What a grand example of a suckfest thread. Although I did agree with Herv. :)

Folks, unwad the panties and take a Prozac. Still preseason.
Take deep, slow breaths. In........out. In..........out. In.........out.

Feel better? Now AT LEAST WAIT until after the Billygoat game to start firing folks. Y'all are sure have an itchin' to start pink slipping folks already.
Lordy!

I've temporarily adopted a new avatar to help fight this thread.

It's that bad.

what I meant was when you guys came back into the league you should have hired someone else than Capers

Why is that exactly? I mean under Capers we've gone from 4 wins, to 5, and then on to 7. Is everything perfect? Of course it isn't. It rarely is no matter where you go. I believe that at the end of the day there's really only one number that matters in the NFL and that's the one in the win column.

So far it's been going up like it's supposed to. Who exactly should the Texans have hired? Who could have done a better job than Capers has AND was available?

This board's collective football IQ has taken a serious hit this off-season....sad sad stuff.

No wonder why Houston is considered a bandwagon sports town. It's sad. We have some of the most impatient fans. Let's all bash the Rox,Texans, and Astros but if they are in the playoffs.............everyone becomes a fan and knew it all along.

He may not be the most intelligent coach but I bet he can spell "intelligent" and he can spell "offense". That's a start.

toro#8 lead us to the promiseland!!

I think the fans have been spoiled with the last few years. You have S.D. go form 5-11 to playoffs.. St. Louis did that .. and others showed HUGE improvement in the league.. What is the difference between those teams and the Texans? To me, it is they lacked 1 or 2 guys to step up and make a difference. Their depth level was better than what ours is.. ours there is a big difference in 1st string to 2nd string, also youth , they didn't have as much youth as what we have.. When those teams had solid players and then added some spark to the team , we on the other hand have the playmakers but don't have enough solid players.

It makes sense in my head but not on the post :embarrass

This has got to be the worst yet funniest thread I've ever read in this forum. Thank God the regular season is almost here.

you guys are a new team and are improving pretty damn fast i dont think you guys should get rid of capers

It is sad how a raider fan can have more insight on the Texans than some of you people. Get over the fire Capers stuff. He's a good coach and will lead this franchise to victory given the time. yall whine too much. I would rather hear opinion that has some logic instead of the "he didnt do what I wanted him to" posts.

come on people!!!!

I'm a huge Texans fan, can we move the team to some other city plz?

Dumbest thread in a looong time...

The sky is falling the sky is falling! :goodnight Ok so some want to blame Capers for everything but do those same people realize there are players on the field making mistakes? Was it Dom who got tripped up and burned for a 70 yard TD catch against the Raiders? Was it Dom on the field opening up the O line like a swinging door? No and no. Not only that, but it's PRESEASON, it don't mean squat. It's just a chance for players to get back in to the groove and for rookies to prove themselves. Our first team offense to me has looked better than ever and Greenwoood and TJ have impressed me also. My last point is that Capers and Casserly have built this team from the ground up, starting with nothing. IMO they have done a pretty damn good job in drafting, and could you imagine what kind of protection Carr would be getting today if Boselli had never gotten injured? Before you start calling for Dom's head, just realize Dom is not the only one involved with this team, we do have other coaches and players that sometimes make mistakes...

This thread is so stupid. I can't believe who ever runs this board allows such lousy posts to be posted (it sounds right to me). We, as postees have made some progress, but I don't see any real progress this season being made in posting. Don't get me wrong, I'm a huge thread and post fan, and always will be. :texans:

LMAO!

I now remember why I took a couple months off from visiting the board....the offseason negativity BETWEEN fans--not even about the Texans!--was starting to bug me to death. Our hunger for football was turning into a mess.

Thank goodness we're almost back to the season. I know I've said this before, but Post an informed opinion, positive OR negative, and I'm cool with it. If, however, you criticize someone's post JUST BECAUSE it's positive or negative, you need a life, right? Crying about someone being a homer is no better than crying about someone being too negative. Let's respond to issues.

ANYWAY, talking about that little bit of football in this thread: Herv summed it up. The Capers/Casserly team has done a solid job starting from scratch. Some mistakes, yes, but some strike-it-rich moves, too. I have seen nothing that leads me to believe there's anyone out there who could've done a better job--nor is there a reason to believe (at this point!) that a bit more improvement shouldn't keep the executioner away. It's a really good division that's a tough hill to climb.

To sum up: I'd rather have Capers coaching this team than Jack Del Rio. No offense to our visiting Jags fans, but the head-to-head results do seem to be speaking for themselves. :)
