This is the first time since the Kubiak era where I feel like at least one side of the ball has a clear identity.

I think this is the first time in team history where we can look at the players in the draft and say..."This is a Texans kind of guy". Kind of like how you can see "Steelers" type of guys

DBs have to tackle in this defense. If they are making business decisions when a RB is coming their way… they are off the Texans’ board.

What impressed me the most when watching Reed was his relatively high usage rate as a pass rusher and success when asked to do so.

Reed recorded 12 total pressures in just 41 pass rushing snaps in 2024, according to Pro Football Focus. That’s a pressure rate of 29.2%!

At worst he is a solid special teamer. At best, he replaces old man Jimmy Ward. Can't ask for more out of a late round pick

I was under the impression this was a shallow draft.

But this guy checks all the boxes, size, speed, smart... why was he still on the board past the 4th round?

He's got to have some weakness.

It was shallow at O-line and QB, but supposedly really deep for RB, DB, and pass rushers.

This can be fixed with better coaching.

Same. I think he’s a great pick. Not sure on his future as a deep safety but think he could be coached into the Pitre mould as a money backer.

Good value in the 6th. Lots of competition so no gaurantee to make the 53, but hes got a very legit shot to stick.

Interesting note: Reed played football on the same team as Sauce Gardner in High School (both on varsity Gardner’s senior season). He considers Sauce a mentor.

Now he gets the opportunity to play with Stingley. Maybe Reed will finally settle the Sauce vs Stingley debate once and for all!
