Higher rated by whom is what is important. And I’m pretty sure Nick isnt making defensive picks in a vacuum. The pick should have been Adebawore who went to the Colts with the next pick. Higher rated and more of an inside guy than Horton, which is what we need.
Nick is getting in his overthinking and outsmarting himself mode.
Because you know better than the TexansThe pick should have been Adebawore who went to the Colts with the next pick. Higher rated and more of an inside guy than Horton, which is what we need.

He was a stud at TCU, led the big 12 in sacks. Meco will have this defense grinding out there. In DeMeco I trust. If he feels he can make a stud out of Horton then I like it.
Every draft analysis I have seen.Higher rated by whom is what is important. And I’m pretty sure Nick is making defensive picks in a vacuum.
This seems to be a theme with Nick, to get home grown dudes. That was probably the reason he went with Dylon. The pick should have been Adebawore who went to the Colts with the next pick. Higher rated and more of an inside guy than Horton, which is what we need.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but those guys, all of them, are wrong at times. Why else would we have stories like Brady and Crosby, or the dramatic fallers each year.Every draft analysis I have seen.
The Texans got two solid DTs in free agency. Adebawore would have been cool, but Horton is a pure DE. Former safety too, guy has a ton of burst. Both are raw pass rush specialists. The pick should have been Adebawore who went to the Colts with the next pick. Higher rated and more of an inside guy than Horton, which is what we need.

I'm not a draft expert, all I can base an opinion about is what I read from trusted sources who do it for a living and watching film. I hope I'm wrong and Horton balls out and Adebawore sucks.I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but those guys, all of them, are wrong at times. Why else would we have stories like Brady and Crosby, or the dramatic fallers each year.
That starting burst is a thing that can't be taught, one of the best things to have in a pass rusher's arsenal.
I think on defensive picks Demeco is getting the guys he wants and Caserio isn’t acting alone. Demeco may have had Adebawore rated lower than Horton. The pick should have been Adebawore who went to the Colts with the next pick. Higher rated and more of an inside guy than Horton, which is what we need.

We all knew better than the Texans when they shipped Nuk off for a half eaten sack of Krusty Burgers.Because you know better than the Texans
Hate to break it to you too, but NFL teams get it wrong at times too. In fact, they're a lot more wrong than they're right. Yeah we get it, we aren't privy to info teams have so us fans can only go by our eyes or what so-called experts have to say and teams rate players how they rate them. But again, it doesn't mean they are right either.I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but those guys, all of them, are wrong at times. Why else would we have stories like Brady and Crosby, or the dramatic fallers each year.
Agreed. Another dimension to the fun of the NFL. Seeing how these players develop over time.Yeah we get it, we aren't privy to info teams have so us fans can only go by our eyes or what so-called experts have to say and teams rate players how they rate them. But again, it doesn't mean they are right either.
Bad example because my boat knew that was a bad trade and my boat is a boat.We all knew better than the Texans when they shipped Nuk off for a half eaten sack of Krusty Burgers.
Yeah because trading a proven pro-bowler is the same as selecting a 4th round draft pickWe all knew better than the Texans when they shipped Nuk off for a half eaten sack of Krusty Burgers.
I would say that IDL was not the greater need. Maybe LB or SAF as it stood at the Horton pick. I'm thinking they were looking at versatility. The pick should have been Adebawore who went to the Colts with the next pick. Higher rated and more of an inside guy than Horton, which is what we need.

Horton is more likely to play meaningful snaps than Abedawore. Bigger hole at DT and Horton is a better rated pure DE prospect than him. Horton can still kick inside in pass rush specialty packages but the addition of Rankins/Ridgeway and exodus of Addison, Ogbo and Green make DE the higher need position. The pick should have been Adebawore who went to the Colts with the next pick. Higher rated and more of an inside guy than Horton, which is what we need.

Agreed, I thought BPA was CB here but the Texans clearly want to upgrade the trenches first (which isn’t a bad thing). In DeMeco we trust!I would say that IDL was not the greater need. Maybe LB or SAF as it stood at the Horton pick. I'm thinking they were looking at versatility.

Still doesn't mean it's automatically the right call just because an NFL team made it.Yeah because trading a proven pro-bowler is the same as selecting a 4th round draft pick
I had Adetomiwa rated higher but hey, I'm just your garden variety armchair GM. After looking harder at Horton, I ain't tripping. That starting burst is a thing that can't be taught, one of the best things to have in a pass rusher's arsenal.
But an anonymous fan on a message board gets it right every time?Still doesn't mean it's automatically the right call just because an NFL team made it.
I still remember when H-Town collectively boo'd the selection of JJ Watt, including myselfBut an anonymous fan on a message board gets it right every time?
Before passing any judgment on picking Watt I looked at everything I could find on him and this was the video that completely sold me on JJ...I still remember when H-Town collectively boo'd the selection of JJ Watt, including myself![]()
I actually liked that pick. I hadn't expected it, but I liked it a lot. I'd heard really good things about him.I still remember when H-Town collectively boo'd the selection of JJ Watt, including myself![]()
Same here. I didn't understand the pick at first and the more I investigated about him, the more I liked it. IIRC, we did a group mock that year, and he was one of the players I was looking at in the first. Before passing any judgment on picking Watt I looked at everything I could find on him and this was the video that completely sold me on JJ...

I knew this guy LOVED football and was passionate about winning. I really wish he could have won a Super Bowl.
I would've liked my recently locked up QB to not insert 🤌 in his anus and prey around town, then we wouldn't had to draft a QB in that 3rd round or this draft.. but hey, apparently that was too much to ask. We HAD to draft a QB, for that reason.. still think the Mills pick was justified.Agreed. Another dimension to the fun of the NFL. Seeing how these players develop over time.
I'll tell you right now. I'd much rather have drafted that Center you folks wanted instead of Davis Mills. Then we wouldn't be drafting a Center & a QB in this draft. Just a QB.
I wanted Nick FairleyI still remember when H-Town collectively boo'd the selection of JJ Watt, including myself![]()
It was obviously a great pick in hindsight, but at the time there was plenty of discussion and armchair opinions regarding GM blunder. Just saying what we see in the internet and care about is usually only a fraction of the info teams have and this doesn’t even start to touch upon what they actually want. Before passing any judgment on picking Watt I looked at everything I could find on him and this was the video that completely sold me on JJ...

Payne was very complimentary of Horton. He noted how Horton spent a lot of downs playing inside the OT’s shoulder and showed him winning several reps from that position. I’d expect him to bump inside in obvious passing situations. Something like:![]()

And who ******* said that? Geez dude, give it up. If we can't have a differing opinion then why have a ******* MB?But an anonymous fan on a message board gets it right every time?
Kinda makes you wonder where Greenard is going to fit inI’d expect him to bump inside in obvious passing situations. Something like:
Anderson - Collins - Horton - Hughes
Not a bad pass rush!
You're the SJW, I've been over it since I said itAnd who ******* said that? Geez dude, give it up. If we can't have a differing opinion then why have a ******* MB?
The team thought it was worth moving up twice to get Wallow. I guess they know best. dum-de-bum-de-dum
