We're used to that hereJust a heads up, he can’t defend a 10 yard slant.

Good, but not great at your job usually works for this kind of thingHow in the world can you be a WR coach for 11 years.
They're not Texans Worthy.Brian Gaine did pretty good last time we didn’t have a 1st or 2nd. I hope we find a Kielce or Antonio Brown talent
My first comparison personality speaking but not necessarily in coaching terms, is Dungy who is also a man of faith and understated and even gentle demeanor. Here is an intro to David Culley and his fellowship with FCA:
I was going to say once Culley is fired. But yeah, this a setup for McCown to become HC in a couple of years. And since he's already 65, I can easily envision them setting McCown to take over for him in the future once he decides to retire.
Never really could. At Louisville, he had a wide open guy on almost every single play, and he’d miss them often, sometimes hugely.
I’m not picking on Culley, I believe I’m neutral on the hire. I just didn’t imagine something like that was common.EB was a RB coach for what like 6-9 years?
Utterly ridiculous. Romeo and the oline coach probably stick around tooOf course he will be.
Cant ever fully clean house it's the Texans way.
Kelly must be a good Christian man or he wouldn't have been kept on.
How can he with Esterbunny running the show? And I'll tell you one thing further. I hope Culley comes in and works to establish a proper culture and attitude, and I hope that he makes strides and builds the foundation. And since he's already 65, I can easily envision them setting McCown to take over for him in the future once he decides to retire.

I dunno, but have no clue how DW4 does or will think about the new HC ?
Ed Oliver gave him absolute hell in that 2016 game.Jackson got benched in the 2015 game vs UH and was sacked 8 times vs UH in 2016. That lack of accuracy was a huge factor to why he fell to second round.
Cully won't be the oldest HC. Pete Carroll is. 672021 Generation Geritol--Lets'see, now we have the oldest US president, the oldest head coach in the NFL and possibly the oldest QB Brady playing in the Super Bowl? Also, Easterby is very religious as our new head coach is, so if we go 0 and 16 next year, it's an act of God. Lord have mercy! I better start going to church.
not a single person they are talking about bringing aboard this coaching staff was going to get scooped up in the next two weeks...or next six months. Being the last to hire a HC automatically put them behind on assistants so at this point make the right hire and don’t rush to make the wrong one...The more I find out about him, the more I like. People here are upset b/c he’s not the sexy pick, but I don’t believe Caserio felt like he could wait 2 more weeks for the possible hire of EB. Coaching staffs have to be filled out and the longer they waited, the slimmer the pickings in the assistant coaches pool becomes.
I think they got the right guy for what the players sorely need and what they wanted all along; a Uniter ...and a guy whose been around the block. True He’s never been a coordinator but Harbaugh thought enough of him to make him his assistant HC...a position that in theory is supposed to be above a coordinator...take that for what it’s worth.
How close is an Asst. Head Coach to a Coordinator? He has been Asst. Head Coach for 3 or 4 years and interviewed in 2014 when BOB was hired. This guy has plenty of experience and could put an offense in like Baltimore ran. Let's give him a chance before we bash him too bad.A WR coach that has never even been an offensive coordinator. Just splendid...
I bet if I fake being a sunshiny religious football man, I could score a gig from Jack Osteensterby. Hell they might make me long snapper coach.I was going to say once Culley is fired. But yeah, this a setup for McCown to become HC in a couple of years.
A, you don’t know that, B, no such thing as “the right hire”. In 2014 BoB was “the right hire” according to fans. you also do nt know that Culley ISNT “the right hire”.not a single person they are talking about bringing aboard this coaching staff was going to get scooped up in the next two weeks...or next six months. Being the last to hire a HC automatically put them behind on assistants so at this point make the right hire and don’t rush to make the wrong one...
I think they got what they wanted. A coaches coach. HC shouldn’t be too worried about coaching players or schemes. His job is to make sure the coaches are coaching the players & teaching schemes.I think they got the right guy for what the players sorely need and what they wanted all along; a Uniter ...and a guy whose been around the block. Hopefully hes a 1 or 2 year hire to setup Demeco being hired as HC. McCown as OC possibly!I was going to say once Culley is fired. But yeah, this a setup for McCown to become HC in a couple of years.
You just ruined it!I think they got what they wanted. A coaches coach. HC shouldn’t be too worried about coaching players or schemes. His job is to make sure the coaches are coaching the players & teaching schemes.
Instead of being on the sidelines calling plays, he’s making sure the process is adhered too but staying relevant to the situation at hand. Kinda like Belichick does.
Wait a minute...

I am 74 years. I remember 65 like it was a 1000 years ago. If a guy is in good health, 65 is not old and coaching for 5 years is nothing. The Texans aren’t 2 years away but you guys probably know better than me. My point is I wouldn’t want to start a rebuild with a 65 year old coach. Most coaches are given 5 years and he’ll be 70 then. However, he might be vegan and that won’t be an issue.![]()
Don't worry. The Texans will run the same offense they've run since 2014. It's all Tim Kelly knows.Good Lord, I just read that the Ravens were last in the NFL in passing.
Lovie Smith? Tim Kelly? Did you type this with a straight face?but I don’t believe Caserio felt like he could wait 2 more weeks for the possible hire of EB. Coaching staffs have to be filled out and the longer they waited, the slimmer the pickings in the assistant coaches pool becomes.
This guy is letting the coordinators coordinate. Culley will focus on "culture".This guy has plenty of experience and could put an offense in like Baltimore ran.
So Culley = Bo Porter???I was going to say once Culley is fired. But yeah, this a setup for McCown to become HC in a couple of years.
Lol, Pete Carroll, Dungy and Harbaugh are like that too...HC’s who don’t call plays on offense or defense but instead focus on managing the game. It should be noted though that all those guys like that..Belichick, Carroll, Dungy and Harbaugh.....ALL of them have SB rings....I think they got what they wanted. A coaches coach. HC shouldn’t be too worried about coaching players or schemes. His job is to make sure the coaches are coaching the players & teaching schemes.

Cully won't be the oldest HC. Pete Carroll is. 67
At my age 5 years is an easy lick. At 65 I’d imagine 5 years is a blink of the eye.I am 74 years. I remember 65 like it was a 1000 years ago. If a guy is in good health, 65 is not old and coaching for 5 years is nothing.
Ummm.....Don't worry. The Texans will run the same offense they've run since 2014. It's all Tim Kelly knows.

Good analogy. Like Porter, Culley won't make it thru the rebuild. So Culley = Bo Porter???
Caserio is not in charge. That should be obvious, now.Caserio ought to be fired.
Caserio ought to be fired. I was his BIGGEST supporter coming here, but to hire Colley over EB if it's true, no ******* way! I'm done with this team.
I was responding to the other post saying Cully will be the oldest HC.
Yeah, I'm turning 50 this year, and 5 years ago seems like it was yesterday. At my age 5 years is an easy lick. At 65 I’d imagine 5 years is a blink of the eye.
I do admire your consistency..so yes, I typed it with a straight face.
Lol, who in the hell knows if EB is going to be a “good HC” and Culley won’t be? And making pronouncements on what kind of job Culley will do before he’s even coached 1 damn practice...lol, some of you guys are ridiculous....and I see it’s about time for me to take another hiatus from this board..So Culley = Bo Porter???
I like it but what if McCown is the HC equivalent of Osteensterby the Nfl executive? why not pick a pick a good HC when there are good candidates out there?
My god cal is a truly stupid clueless man.
