Warning for Texan fans coming in from the West

All I-10 east and west bound lanes at Katy Mills Mall are closed while construction cranes are working on overpasses for the new grand parkway. I just went through it a few hours ago. It is a cluster*$%^ of massive proportions. It will take you and extra hour plus going through it.

According to local CBS News:

The Katy Freeway will be shut down in both directions at the Grand Parkway (Highway 99) beginning Friday night at 9pm and will remain closed until Monday at 5am.

Police officers are on scene to direct traffic around the closures.

Often times, the contractors working on major highway projects are given large financial incentives to complete work ahead of schedule. They are not going to wait for a football game. Look for detours!
