1st Houston Texans: Clay Matthews, OLB, USC

2nd Houston Texans: Max Unger, C/G, Oregon
I think this pick makes a lot of sense for the Texans, who could use help at both center and right guard. Max Unger, able to play both positions, fits the team's zone-blocking scheme perfectly.

3rd Houston Texans: Rashad Johnson, FS, Alabama
The Texans' secondary has been an abomination for years and has always missed a ball-hawking leader.

4th Houston Texans: Andre Brown, RB, N.C. State
The Texans really could use a power back to complement Steve Slaton.

4th Houston Texans: Terrance Taylor, DT, Michigan
Adding a powerful nose tackle would really improve Houston's bottom-10 run defense.

5th Houston Texans: Henry Melton, DE, Texas
The Texans signed Antonio Smith, but they still need a pass-rusher across from Mario Williams on passing downs. Henry Melton just ran a 4.64 at his Pro Day. Pretty impressive considering he's 269 pounds.

Change the Taylor pick into Vance Walker (Better fit IMO) throw in Gregg Isdaner WV in the 6th and whoever in the 7th and this draft couldnt be any better.

1. Matthews, NO, unless they move Adibi to SLB and Matthews to WLB.
2. Unger, I love this pick but feel that he'll be gone by our pick in the 2nd.
3. Johnson, I like the player but think that we need a SS starter not a FS.
4. Brown, I'd love this pick as well but I think he'll go in the 2nd round.
4. Taylor, good pick but I think we've got enough DT's
5. Melton, I don't know anything about this guy but a late round rotational DE would be good.
6. I totally agree with you about the Isdaner pick quality and depth for our O-line that needs it badly.

Overall good draft but with a few players that I think will be gone by the time we pick in those rounds.

I could forgive them for botching the 1st rounder if the rest of the draft fell like that.

Don't we already have this thread out there ?

I'd be delighted with this if it fell this way. Adibi goes to nickle backer.....until he proves he can stay healthy....or Mathews gets dinged. I see no down side with a playing time war between mathews and adibi. and since Kubes and Smith love to do this type of thing.....

Could take Jerry and do the same thing with Okoye. Ziigy Hood is weak against the run....great athlete. I do not see how he fits the roster.

Well dunta....I've been wrong every year for six straight years. Jenkins might just get past Na'orleans and we take him. Or worse Kollar will talk himself into resurrecting Micheal Johnson. I put two and two together and come up with Mathews gives us the best chance to be both faster on the edges, provides an extra safety on the field, and has a very decent bull rush and can run the arc. It make so much sense to me I could see the Wolf in New England or Parcells Jumping us and taking the guy. So let not your heart be troubled. Anything can happen.

Now Detroit could be keeping things close to the vest....Stafford could be lieing....but he said to night neither he or his agent has been in contact with Detroit. And if he is their guy....you'd figure they have already given up on shopping the pick and enter into negotiations on the eight-five million dollar contract.

So if nothing Else it will be very interesting. Detroit takes anything but the QB....folks will be a' scrambling .
