Unofficial Salary Cap Page by Houstonprofootball.com

Vinny

shiny happy fan
Our good friend Keith at hpf has taken some of his time to put together an unofficial Salary Cap page for Texans fans. Keith and aj. are the two best sources when it comes to cap questions.

Collecting NFL salary cap data is an inexact science at best. The information posted below is only as accurate as the reports published by the media. It also includes best guesses to plug holes where the media reports are lacking. This page would not be possible without the initial efforts of "AJ" Burge and the others who have helped both him and myself.

Player Name Signed Thru Base Salary Allocated Bonus Pay Total 2005 Cap Figure
Wong, Kailee 2005 $3,350,000 $1,056,160 $4,406,160
Walker, Gary 2009 $2,200,000 $1,839,493 $4,039,493
McKinney, Steve 2006 $3,150,000 $806,160 $3,956,160
Wiegrert, Zach 2007 $2,650,000 $706,160 $3,356,160
Wade, Todd 2009 $1,465,000 $1,672,827 $3,137,827

WOW ! No wonder those Draft picks teams can use to get that "young
blood" on the roster are so valuable.

looking ahead to 2006:

Zach Weigert
McKinney
Billy Miller

...will all be cut or forced to restructure. Weigert and McKinney would save $3 million each if they were cut and Billy Miller would save the team almost $1 million.

Perhaps some of the OL shuffling and pursuing free agents, etc... has more to do with looking ahead. Weary and Washington will both be UFA.
