Unconventional mock.

Let me start off by saying i like what kjax and Allen have done this year at cb2. That said, I think Allen may leave in free agency and I don't think it'd hurt to add a potential beast to the rotation there and really put us over the top. I know a lot of people won't like this mock, but here goes:

I'm going to trade up. Yes, I said trade up. I'm trading my first and third and next years fourth to move up somewhere around 15 or so and 5th in return.

1) Dre kirkpatrick - comes in and provides competition for the number two spot. Freakish athlete. Provides us with something wending have at corner...height. 6'2" tall, runs well, covers well. If he doesn't earn the Job he can probably split with Kareem like Allen does now. In nickel and dime situationsit makes it extremely tough on opposing qb's and receivers. Texans secondary has a chance at becoming one of the best.

2) Kendall wright - I just love this guy. Instant compliment to our receiving corps. I don't think bj and dm come back if either, but regardless this guy is a player. He also adds an elements of speed. Good hands, a go getter when the ball is in the air.

3) traded

4) Jeff fuller - yes I'm taking two wr's. An getting up there in age. Jacoby not always consistent, Walter is solid but unspectacular. He may not last this long, but stranger things have happened. Hes been dropping a bit lately, but I think he'd make a good developmental/spot duty guy.

5) Ryan miller - plays guard for colarado, but he's 6'8. I'm thinking he can also compete for the swing tackle position. Moves well for his size and well. . .he plays for colarado.

5) Emanuel Acho - MLB from ut. I think webcould use some solid depth there behind captain and cush. Should also be a good special teams player. Pretty good player that I think can play well in this system.

6) Jeff demps - from florida. . . 4.2 forty guy. Rb, and return man.

7) Matt Conrath - virginia dt, 6'7" 280. Can bulk up and be an inside outside player. Should compete to make the roster.

I think fuller may be gone in the fourth, but depending on his combine numbers maybe not. Either way I'd still target receiver with that pick unless a bad ass prospect just fell into my lap.

I typed this from my phone. Please excuse typo's and auto correct stuff. I'll clean it up in the morning.

1. Kirkpatrick, even with your trade up to #15 I don't think Kirkpatrick will be available. CB's have become almost as valuable as QB's since the NFL has turned into a passing league and I think Kirkpatrick goes in the top 10 along with Claiborne. I love the player but don't think he's available at #15.
2. Wright, very good player and pick. I prefer my WR's a little taller but Wright is an excellent talent.
4. Fuller, your right he's fallen this year but I doubt he falls this far. I think he goes in the 3rd at least. If still available though he's great value in the 4th.
5. Miller, everything I read about him is good, quick OG who can possibly play RT in the NFL. I don't think he lasts this long though, gone in the 2nd or 3rd round.
5. Acho, Good size and speed for the position and would be great value if still available, he also could go earlier.
6. Demps, I'm not familiar with him but his size and speed would certainly bring something different to our RB corp. and I like the position chosen since I think we'll let Ward walk in FA.
7. Conrath, I'm not familiar with this guy either. I'm guessing that he'd most likely compete at DE and his height should allow him to add weight without losing athleticism. Fills a depth need.

1) Dre kirkpatrick - That means you have paid JoJo, KJ, Allen and now another #1 contract. Just a lot of money to tie up in one position. Like the player though

2) Kendall wright - meh

4) Jeff fuller - probably going at least a round earlier

5) Ryan miller - probably going at least a round earlier

5) Emanuel Acho - nice pick

6) Jeff demps - I've watched several games he's played in. He's really, really fast. He runs into the back of his OL faster than anyone I've ever seen! I'd say he's closer to Trindon Holliday than Darren Sproles.

7) Matt Conrath - ??? seems like a good pick for a 7th

I at least understand your mock & why you chose thse players. My thoughts:

Dre could be there at 15. Walter has Seattle selecting him but that might not happen & he could fall. Two things and why I moved CB off my mock. First, KJ is doing much better & no coach likes to admit fault with a First. Second, we also have Brandon Harris red shirting (if you will) & he was considered to have a first rating by many. Texans got applause by trading up (another reason why he should see playing time next season). Roc Carmichael could end up being better than any corner on roster. I prefer height also but these guys are very good. Rey, I suggest you consider Casey Hayward from Vanderbilt if you insist on going corner (Only 5'11" but plays taller). I have him rated 2nd to Claiborne and can be had our pick in second round. You keep your 3rd for another player and next draft's pick also.

Wright has been my guy and is a perfect slot who could play flanker. Will not be avail in 2nd. Top 5 in second round.

Fuller was on my hot list prior to his last season but quickly disappeared. I'm think it might have been coaching aqs other players level off also for A&M. He is another Walter which is good but if you take Wright we need a big fast flanker like Sanu, (my guy) Dwight Jones or Broyles who might fall to third due to his injury.

I also like Acho.
