Ryan O'Halloran‏@ryanohalloran2h Another right tackle hits the market -- agent for Atlanta veteran Tyson Clabo tweets he's been released.

Ryan O'Halloran‏@ryanohalloran2h Chad Speck's tweet: "Clabo immediately becomes one of the top two tackles on the open market. He's started 91 consecutive games."

Evan Silva‏@evansilva1h Andre Smith was @PFF's No. 1-rated right tackle in 2012. Tyson Clabo was Top 5, and Eric Winston was No. 9. They are all free agents.

I think Texans are waiting for Winston to come down on his price as teams drop out or they will pick up another vet being cut like Clabo who will be 32 Oct.

Unless the Texans can re-do a contract or 2, they don't have the cap room to go after a Winston or Clabo.

what's the deal with andre smith? 26 years old, first rounder, rated the #1 RT by PFF last year ... and still a free agent? i know he had a couple of injuries early on, but has been solid the last two years and is progressing extremely well. i'd certainly cut someone or move money around to sign smith, and probably would for clabo as well. clabo was one of the top pass pro guys last year if i recall correctly, and i dont think enough can be said for great bookends in today's game.

iirc... didn't andre's draft stock fall because he had off the field (or was it in the head) issues?

andre smith was the one that showed up to the combine out of shape and had the horribly infamous "jiggly" sprint on his pro day. i'm not sure if there was more to it, but what i remember is that he was more than a bit immature, and there were questions about his pass blocking.

And then he held out for a long time during his first training camp and, iirc, broke his foot early in his rookie season.

But he's improved as he's matured, I think.
