I'm with you. But until we land our franchise quarterback I have a hard time focusing on other positions. If we select the guy in your avatar or my avatar then we can roll with whatever. I'll keep an eye out on this linebacker though.
 
Absolutely. Settle the QB issue first. But I'm telling you this kid is an animal. Every so many years Temple produces a beast. Last was Muhammed Wilkerson in 2011. I feel like they're do. I for one didn't expect them to be rolling through their schedule as they have. The beating the have Hackenberg gave me chill . I believe Tyler had 2 sacks that game, where they were primarily blitzing only 2-3 players at a time
 
He's been on my radar since the Penn St game. Solid player. Seems to be getting graded around round 5/6 right now but I think he'll rise up. He's kinda got that Chris Borland vibe to him. He's not a freak athlete or anything but he's always where he needs to be and he doesn't mess around once he gets there.
 
I like this kid but I don't see Urlacher at all. He just doesn't have near that athleticism. In college, Urlacher was playing SS in a 3-3-5, returning punts, and caught 6 TDs as a goal line TE. And he was 6-4 250. Tyler is closer to 6-0 235.

That doesn't mean that Matakevich isn't a good athlete, but he's not a freak like Urlacher was.

I still think he looks like Chris Borland. And that's no insult. He's limited physically and athletically but he acknowledges it and adjusts his style of play accordingly. He makes up for it with toughness and genuine instincts.

I don't like comparing guys to all time greats because it creates unrealistic expectations. But if you just have to compare him to a great NFL player I would say Zach Thomas way before Urlacher.

I personally dont put much stock in comparisons. But one thing is for sure, he makes tackles and gets alot of them. Hes had at least 100 tackles every year he has played. I believe 23 is his career best vs Idaho in 2013, which isnt saying much because the Vandals went 1-11
 
I'll be the first to admit that this kid isn't going to blow people away with his speed, but he has rare instincts a lot of players lack, he gets a lot of tackles, and he's always around ball carriers. Most players do not average 100+ all four years of college ball IIRC
