Turkey Day Texans VS Lions. Lets predict ;)

EllisUnit

Vote RED!!!
Ok i said AJ would have a big day against the jags but DAMN. AJ is back to his old self for sure guys and it feels good.

OK

Texans 28

Lions 21

Foster always plays good during prime time games, so i say Foster runs for 165 yards and 2 TD. AJ gets 114 yards and 1 TD. With OD grabbing the other.

Gonna be fun stuffing my face while watching my favorite team play on thanksgiving. OF course to to health reasons i dont prefer a repeat of todays gazme.

I'm still trying to shove my heart back into my chest. Don't even wanna think about Detroit until tomorrow.
Agreed. Savor the win today (ugly as it was, you don't get extra credit for style points in the NFL). Worry about the Lions and Suh's cheap shots tomorrow.

I don't like the short week after playing almost 5 full quarters and having to travel. It's going to be a tough game for the Texans but I still think they pull it out. I won't predict any score until we see if Graham is a Texans tomorrow or not.

I actually think we might lose this game.

ONLY BECAUSE we will be tired after the marathon game we had today.

It's a Thursday game, and it will be tough on our guys.

I do think we have the better team, but the layoff after this game will be nice.

My Prediction?

Pain!

On three days rest there's definitely going to be pain. Hopefully we give as much as we receive.

We could definitely lose this one. Brutal game against Chicago, marathon battle against Jacksoffville, short turnaround flying to Detroit. Especially if Joseph is out. Gonna be tough to guard Calvin.

J. Jo being out is very concerning. I think he needs to sit if he is anywhere less than 95% and use the long break to heal up. Texans still win due to pressure on Stafford

The Texans are playing up to, and down to their competition regularly this year. They usually (eventually) get around to putting a thumping on the bad teams but they've let them hang around a lot this season and seem to be doing it more as the year goes on. The flip side of that is they're hanging tough with the good teams too.

They're in every game though (except for that Green Bay game, that was a 2012 season aberration if ever there was one.) and I think they can win Thursday. They may not. This was a bad time to play 5 tough quarters against a lousy opponent but they've responded well to wake up calls so maybe this works out for the best.

Calvin Johnson must be going 'Muhahaha' after seeing what the rookie receiver Blackmon did to us.
D-backfield better show in wearing their big boy pants.

He's going to get his. We have to make sure our guys do their part. It'll be a tough game because Stafford and Megatron are a tough match up for anyone.

I predict I'm gonna eat too much mashed potatoes, and not leave any room for pumpkin pie, and eat it anyway.

Not going to predict the game, but i am 90% certain if the texans win they will clinch a playoff spot.

ALL i know is that if JoJo is out expect another shoot out, i dont see anyone on our roster who can cover Calvin Johnson.

Too early to tell on that one.

We have to at least wait for Indy to fall to 6 losses.

It is not too early when you are three up for the division and four up for at least a wilcard.

Uhm....let's see.

After next's weeks game there will be four weeks left and if the Colts lose/texans win, we will clinch a tie for the division as will have a four game lead.

If the texans win/bengal lose we will be guaranted a playoff birth as they will have five games up with four to play on the teams ranked 7 or lower in the conference. and victory alone would have the Texans clinching at least a tie for the playoff birth with the Bengals.

Hmmm i just want homefield, dont want to say hey even if we lose out we still make the play-offs.

Uhm...I think there's five weeks left after next week.

This is a Super Bowl team.

Walter, Martin, AJ, OD, Graham, Casey, Foster, Forsett, hell even LeStar Jean.

Teams can't stop all of us. Shut one or two guys down, one or two more show up and get it done. Unsung heroes. They don't care who steps up, somebody just will though.

We win the Lions game. Score? I don't have a clue.

After this game...I'm done predicting scores.

guys we cant break tradition, it has been working so well. Dont be scared to throw around some predictions.

Next weeks game will be interesting rather than important I believe.

Obviously its non-conference so won't have a huge bearing on the playoffs, but at the same time I'm not sure we've gone up against too many medium-level teams this season, most have been flat out turgid at the point we've played them (although some have improved since) and we've played 2 games against really good teams, and split our record against them.

Everyone is concentrating on what Calvin Johnson might do to us, I just feel like on D, we may have a similar gameplan to what we had against the Bears, allowing Marshall to take what he will anyway and be sure to absolutely cut off anything else they might want to do against us.

I'm not that well up on their D but they are big at DT and it is something we've struggled to cope with in the past. Need to be sure to direct pressure off Schaub.

The back end of our schedule looks a lot tougher than the early games we played, this will be a big indication as to how we will cope.

As much as getting the W was the most important thing yesterday, I sure hope the players are getting ripped to shreds in the film room today because we shouldn't be forcing ourselves to come from behind against 1-9 teams. Could see us going 0-2 against the Pats this season if that continues to happen and I want to be watching the Texans in February.

Just to break the "myth"...

Ok, ok. You're so demanding.

I always start off by thinking "How many TDs could we score on the defense..." so I think we can put up at least 4 TDs on the Lions. That's 28. I will throw in two FGs to make it a total of 34.

The Lions will put up 3 TDs and grab maybe 2 FGs. That gives the Lions 27.

Texans 34
Lions 27

There, Ellis. Now can I go back to arguing about trivial **** in the other forums??? LOL. :butterfly:

Two ways of looking at that. 1) They ain't so tough on Thanksgiving, 2) They're due a win.

I'm going with the first one because I don't like the look of the second one.

You never know which Lions team will show up. They've been injured this season and a bunch of backups are in there, but they can't be underestimated. They still have Megatron. I say the Texans by a TD.

Heh me too. I just kept hearing (especially on the radio) about how "tough" the Lions are on Thanksgiving. Seems like it's just another game for them. Maybe worse since they typically face a "prime time" level opponent.

I don't care how the Texans win, I just want to keep winning with no more injuries.

This is going to be a tough game after a pair of tough games and it begins our 3 road game stretch that ends in New England.

I expected the Lions to do something this year. They're coming off a tight home game loss to the Packers. This is a team that's averaging 300 yards a game through the air while only giving up 215 yards per game.

After getting debacled by Blackmon, Megatron scares me. But if we can pound the rock, control time of possession, get to Stafford and get some turnovers, I think we can pull this out.

34-31, Texans.

He's going to get his. We have to make sure our guys do their part. It'll be a tough game because Stafford and Megatron are a tough match up for anyone.

I am so tired of the Calvin Johnson nut huggin. We've beaten "great" receivers a time or two in the past. This is just one more to throw an empty game to. Just like Brandon Marshall's good game in a loss, & even the rookie Blackmon's 236 yard game in a losing effort.

The thing I'm worried about is the short turnaround. While the Lions will be installing their game-plan on Wednesday, we'll be flying to Detroit.

This is a Super Bowl team.

Walter, Martin, AJ, OD, Graham, Casey, Foster, Forsett, hell even LeStar Jean.

Teams can't stop all of us.

In yesterdays game, Andre had 14 catches, Graham had 8, Owen had 6, Walter had 6, Casey had 3, Arian had 3, Lestar got 1, Martin had 1, Forsett had 1.....

It's like a freak'n hydra.

Short week after a long, physical and emotional game on the road against a team needing a W. Not good, imo.

You want a prediction...

Wade is pissed. I'll have everyone remember back to the end of last year & as this season started. We all questioned Wade's sophomore slump. Our defense was supposed to take a step back because of the offenses we'll be facing.

Well, this defense has played better than I anticipated. I think better than anyone anticipated. & we all know, it's been because of two people. Wade Phillips & Country Hulk.

Well, after what happened yesterday, I think Wade wants to make a statement. At least I would.

He's going to stomp a mudhole in somebody's a$$ & it's just bad luck that the Detroit Lions are next up.

No more TDs.... the Lions may score 6 points but that's going to be it. & If Gary Kubiak takes his foot off the gas, Son-of-Bum is going to walk up to him & smack him right in the kisser.

I don't think Kubiak is a dummy, I know he knows we know what Wade knows.

52-6 Texans.

If Kubiak attacks Detroit's weakness, which means airing it out: Texans 27-24,

If Kubiak goes SOP: Lions 26-20.

You never know which Lions team will show up. They've been injured this season and a bunch of backups are in there, but they can't be underestimated. They still have Megatron. I say the Texans by a TD.

I say Houston by 17 points. Pass rush on Detroit will weaken Lions chances of big plays. Houston offense should run on Lions all day baby.
