Trophy winner...

Matt Leinart is my pick too. I'd like to see a surprise winner like Timmy Chang from Hawaii winning..

Funny you said Timmy Chang, I just got through winning it with him on NCAA. I'm trying to build Hawaii into a contedor team and Chang took the Hiesman on the way to the national championchip.

What about Benson??? Leinart probably is the early favorite but without Roy Williams, BJ, and Sloan Thomas the Longhorns are probably going to run the ball a whole lot more with Benson.

The Longhorns probably wont have the type of season that USC will have so that will probably hurt Benson...

this is a close one to call. leinart looks to be the early favorite, but he already lost his best wr, whitney lewis, and if he loses williams (which he should) he could have a difficult time putting up heisman like numbers. if williams is their then i think he has just as a chance as leinart, but we know what happens when two players from the same time are finalist, just look at what happened to willis mcgahee. hopefully the voters fall for jason white again this year, the problem is that white will probably put up the same numbers he did last year.

This is a long shot, but I'd like to see a defensive player win. It's been a while but there needs to be a little variation besides just a QB winning every year. Charles Woodson...I believe he was the last to win it and that was a good 6-7 years ago.

I think Charles Woodson was the only one to do it if I remember right.

martin nance is a possiblity if josh betts can get him the ball like Roethlisberger could. If not, I'd go with Aaron Rodgers QB out of Cal

i think woodson maybe the last defensive player to win the heisman, which i think is sad, who said the most outstanding player had to offense. the only way a defensive player can win now is if he plays both sides of the ball and is a great special team guy. in last year's voting not no defensive player finished in the top ten in voting.

the problem martin nance will face is the same problem that leftwhich, pennington, moss, and roethlisberger had, and that is they play in the mac. if you said the name martin nance on here few people would know that he is a wr for miami. this could be a good race for the heisman, their are about 15 guys that have a chance to win it, which is a lot at the begining of the season.

Leinart and White are probably the favorites but look for Darren Sproles to emerge from out of the pack. K-State is my dark horse to win the National Championship this year. But if all goes right for the Trojans, I don't see anyone beating them.

Agreed, if Leinart doesn't win it, I think Sproles will take it. He will definately put up some crazy numbers.
