I read this letter to the Chronicle today, and I couldn't help but laugh, as I have read this same idea on the board many times. The writer has read my mind.
Not much of a deal for Saints
I can't believe how many times I have heard the "novel" trade idea of sending David Carr and Domanick Davis to the Saints for the second overall pick just so the Texans can draft both Reggie Bush and Vince Young. I have heard this many times by word of mouth, numerous times on talk radio, and even a couple of times in these daily letters. What is the Saints' motivation for this "fair" deal? Why would the Saints pass on a potential superstar to get two average players from last year's worst team in football?
The Saints ought to make an offer to the Texans for Aaron Brooks and Deuce McAllister for the No. 1 pick just so they can have both Bush and Young. To all the Texans fans who would balk at that offer, now you know how the Saints fans must feel about your idea of getting both Bush and Young on the Texans.
