I have a friend that is a Colts fan and we were talking about the competition in the AFC South this upcoming season. He talked about the Jags, tacks, when we started to talk about the Colts he kept praising Jughead and how good he is then we talked about the Texans and I said how do you think Carr is going to do this year? Do you think the line will improve and be able to hold it's own? He said it will improve, but he still thinks Carr will be running for his life again. I asked him how do you think Paymeaton would do if the Texans and Colts switched OL's he said that Carr would have 28 TDs 13 INTs and 4089 yards. As for Jughead he would have 21 TDs and 15 INTs and 4075 yards, I asked him about the passing yards and he said Carr putt up 3,500+ with the line Jughead could put up alot more. Anyways I wanted to know what you would think if you guys and the Colts switched offensive lines.

Carr with time in the pocket and Andre Johnson to throw too?

30 TDs, 8 INTs 4200-4500 yards

Pay-me-a-ton behind a line that gives up sacks in the double digits.

20 TDs, 12 INTs, 3500-3900 yards. jughead doesnt like getting sacked.

With a LT like Glenn Carr could feel safer in the pocket, and to throw in a wrinkle if he had Marvin Harison and Andre Johnson to throw to he could get 4500-4700 yards. :)

Pay-a-ton would not last behind our line. He would look like Ragone did against the Jags. Carr is quite fast for his position and that has saved him. A slower QB would get sacked more and thus less 1st downs and less chances for more yards. Bottomline Pay-a-ton could operate well with the Texans line as long as the opposition did not blitz too much.

I think Peyton would do worse, but not as much as you might think. He has a very quick delivery that would make our horrible pass-blocking line look adequate. I think he would get sacked about 35 times behind our line.

I think Carr holds onto the ball too long and would get sacked about 25-30 times. He would throw for over 20 TD's and 4000 yards too though.

While were swapping players with the Colts, lets pick up Dwight Freeny and
they can have any, maybe any 2 defensive players from our D. Freeney is
our arch nemesis since he is so good againt anybody but we got to play him twice a year, every year ! Can you just imagine having him as our weakside OLB, would give Peyton fits since he's slow and clumsy anyway - just as he gives Carr fits.

I think Payton makes his line look much better than it is because of his quick release and his pocket presences. He may not have quick feet like Carr, but I think these other assets make up for that. Look at Marino, he was one of the slowest QB's around, but he always was one of the least sacked. And they both have/had a nack for burning the blitz.

Paytons sack totals would go up and his pass numbers would go down some, but I think the drop in numbers would be impacted more by the swap in the receiving core rather than the swap in OLine.

That being said, I think Carr will do fine behind the line this year. I never understood last year why they did not run more slants and quick outs to take pressure off the OLine. Just by doing more of this the pass protection will be improved. :highfive:

neither qb could do well because they have different systems to adjust to
peyton uses the audible system for a lot of quick routes while the texans use more mid-range to long routes

Yeah, there's just too many variables other than the oline to consider in this equation. better question would be if they switch manning, harrison, and james with Carr, DD, and AJ, which team would be better?

I will stick with Carr, DD and AJ. Manning is one of the best, but I think Carr can be special as well. IMO the biggest difference is offensive philosophy and supporting cast members such as Wayne and Stokely.

JMO, but 32 teams would pick Manning over Carr. DD and Edge is a closer call because of the age and contract issues, but the great majority of teams would go with Edge. AJ and Harrison I think that equation reverses with the majority of teams taking AJ and only a few taking Harrison.
