Trade with Oakland

This is my draft day proposal: We trade down to the number 7 spot with the Raiders, who take Leinart. For the number 1 pick, we get Oaklands 1st, second, third and next year's number one. This leaves us with the #1, #33, #40, and then 3 3rd's.

OK, here's how it goes:

1. Vernon Davis, TE, Maryland. Ran a 4.38 at the combine, easily the most athletic TE in recent memory, probably ever.

2. Davin Joseph, OG, Oklahoma. Second best guard in the draft, best for our system which needs smaller players. Also spent time at LT-he is versatille and talanted.

2. Ko Sampson, FS, South Carolina. Ball Hawking saftey, this secondary badly needs soomeone other then Dunta who can hit and cover.

3. Rocky MacIntosh, MLB, Miami. The next Vilma, slightly rawer, but also at a smaller price.

3. Wimberly/Ray Edwards, DE. Witchever one slips, both are good pass rushers and unless we get someone in FA, DE is just as big a need as Guard.

3. Jason Spitz/Nick Mangold/Mark Sensttrom (sp) OG/C. As bad as Wade and Riley looked on the outside, the inside of the line is still the weekest (I advocated D'Brick because that would solidify the LT spot and putt Pitts back at LG). All of these players fitt into the zone blocking system, even with Joseph, we still need help at guard, also depends on the development of Hodgson.

4. Derek Hagan, WR, Arizona. Stock fell with Senior Bowl and combine, steal if he falls this far.

5. Aaron Harris, MLB, Texas. Good defender, great tackler, very underrated.

This leaves us with at least three new starters (Davis, Joseph, Sampson), and three other potential ones in MacIntosh, Mangold/Sensttrom/Spitz and whoever we get at DE.

Wow that would suck pretty much all the way around. First the monster trade is there and damn that would be a monster trade. Second why trade with Oakland and take a TE in the first round. I know Vernon is a stud, but please out of all of our needs TE is not that high on the board. The trenches and secondary should be addressed before we go for a TE. There are just to many options in the draft and FA to worry about a above 3rd round TE. Mario Williams should be everyone's target on this board, he is likely the best player in the draft. Rare size, speed, and strength and on top of that the kid is smart and has a hell of a personality. He is the homerun guy we've been waiting for a guy that for the next 7-10 yrs will cause havok for opposing offenses. Hopefully we can snatch Mangold in the second, Rocky McIntosh, and Jonathan Joseph, Demario Minter, or whatever the top CB is in the third. Then with the first pick in the fourth take the best TE available. Should be a quality one there, there are not that many teams that are looking for a TE. So Klop, T.J., Day, or Thomas should be available there. In the fifth I am looking for an athlete either the Bergeron kid from the AFL or maybe even Chester the athletic G from Oklahoma that will replace Weigert in a couple of years. in the sixth I am taking the best player available likely a DE or 2 gap DT. After that just take the best thing you can find in the seventh hopefully a fast WR if we have not scooped one yet.

Because Vernon Davis is a WR in a TE's body. Look at what Antonio Gates did for the Chargers, they went from 4-12 to 12-4 in the season he emerged in. Im not saying we are going to go 14-2, but Davis gives us an option we have not had in a long time. 4.38. Thats faster then any linebacker in history of the draft, thats safter then any saftey i can think of, and faster then almost any cornerback in the league. He is also an above average blocker and takes all that pressure of AJ. I think D'Brick or Mario are still my first choice, and I would strongly consider taking either one at #1 if we could not trade with anyone else, but I'm bored and throwing scenario's out there. I think this is the most plausible I could come up with that has not been restated over and over.

ok, if u want to trade down to oakland u might need to make 2 trades one to ten or nyj then down to oakland and maximize ur position. the raiders are in cap hell and will probably stay there so they don't mind trading picks this is that yr.
