Trade down?

Considering what we need and what's available is trading down the most logical move? This year's draft is nowhere near as deep as last year's IMHO. Any chance someone trades their 18-24 RD2 &RD4 to move up 8-10 spots?

Of course, if Smith is active in getting some players here (Briggs, Samuel, etc..) do we really need to trade down? Take Jamarcus high? Trade down and take Troy Smith. Take Peterson high or trade down and take Marshwan Lynch lower?

Honestly though, if Joe Thomas is on the board SOMEHOW when we pick, do you take him over an Adrian P.? What about if Gaines is there? Do we use another high pick on a DE?

Just getting the brainstorming going....16 weeks to go!!

As far as trading down, the Texans lowest position will be #9. Still in the top 10 and big money. Signing money drops when you get out of the top 10. I am guessing it would be easier to trade out of #11 than #9.

it still stings to think about the 2005 draft sitting there @ #13 helpless watching DeMarcus Ware go #11 to Cowboys then Shawn Merriman #12 to the bolts, then we trade down & pass of Derrick Johnson. no thanks
