Interesting that Jake Replogle from Purdue did not make the Top 25 Breakout players on PFF. He had the highest PFF rating last year for all returning DTs in the nation. Replogle plays DT at Purdue but is the prototype 3-4 DE.
Replogle is 6'-5", 290 lbs and had incredible production last season for an interior player - 60 tackles, 14 TFLs, 2 sacks. Came to Purdue weighing 230 lbs and has continually added good weight during his time there. Not much talk about Replogle now but I expect he will climb to be a fringe 1st round player by the time the draft comes around. Depending on how Covington and Still perform this season, I see it likely that DE and OT will be our largest needs come draft time. I like Covington and Still, but Covington lacks length and Still lacks the space explosion you look for in a 3-4 DE. I would prefer to see Covington and Still eventually handling the NT duties.
Replogle is one for all the draft guys to check out if you have BTN.
