Today is finally here !

I'm about to start getting ready to head out to the game. Need to do some laundry, clean the coolers, shower, take my son to my mom's, run to the store for tailgating needs and load up the truck! Can't wait!!!

FILO_Doc is on his way to keep the FILO tradition. Will be enroute in an hour or so myself.

30% chance of rain with pulse severe storms possible. Threat of high winds in pulse storms. High of 95. UV index of 10+. Take plenty of water to go with all the beer, and grab some sunblock! :)

This has been a FILOgirl forecast for 13 August. Now back to your regularly scheduled opening season tailgate thread....

Wow, I can't believe we're back.

What a great feeling to wake up to. Rollin' to the stadium in about 4 hours.

When I got off work yesterday afternoon, I went straight to the store to pick up supplies. Marinated the fajitas overnight and keeping the beer ice cold

GO TEXANS! :highfive:

HA!! I was wondering how many others out there did this same practice as I. It's good to have family in the area.

Not sure which I'm more excited about - the tailgating or the game. Probably both!!!

GO TEXANS!!!!

Wha ka ka ka......

This will be my first ever Texans game I have been too I cannot wait, taking the train so I may just have to walk through the tailgate parties but I cannot WAIT!!!!!!!!!!! My roommate got the tickets so he is excited to go to. BUT he is from Wyoming so he is a Broncos fan so I have been giving him a hard time all week! :highfive:

INJURY UPDATE: The following Texans will not play against Denver: SS Glenn Earl, WR Jabar Gaffney, TE Billy Miller, LB Zeke Moreno, S Jon Pendergrass, LB DaShon Polk, DT Daleroy Stewart, WR Sloan Thomas and C/G Todd Washington. WR Jerome Mathis (groin) is questionable.

Jason Simmons will start at strong safety; Victor Riley will start at left tackle.

Today's Game is the only good thing about my summer coming to an end. Already have my VCR set.

TEXANS84 what is wrong with Sloan Thomas?

Bud Light's in the frig and chicken's in the oven w/a teriyaki marinade. And it looked like bread pudding for dessert.

Victor Riley starts? Good. Maybe Wand will be able to relax a little and let the game slow down in his mind.

Ahhhhhhhhhhhh, football.

I envy you guys.Wish i Lived there again hey any company needing bricklayers? maybe i'll just move back.Everyone have fun tonight,I will scrambling all airways looking and listening for updates.

T- 4.5 hours and counting. The offseason is FAR too long. I have been thinking for some time we need an 18 game season. I'm more convinced than ever. Go Texans! :highfive:

I am more concerned about our O-line than our D-line.

They keep playing the way they have been and David is dead meat.
Yes that's true about the o-line, but in order for Capers to use his zone blitz, he has to see the ability to get a consistent pass rush from the defense...

I totally agree, but I have faith that our defense is starting to gel. And with the addition of PB I believe they will be a top 15 defense this year.

What I don't have faith in is our offensive consitancy.

I'm feeling pretty good about our defensive line. Of course Payne and Walker
have had some injuries, but with TJ in the mix it gives me more of a comfort
level - he's not just a starter in the near term, but may have the potential to be our young franchises best downlineman ever. See I'm thinking DeLoach started at RE the first couple years before Robaire got here and also has some experience at nose, so we now have real depth in the defensive line.
But the offensive line is a different story. I dunno....wonder if anyone on the
Board is really confidant and positive about this unit at this time? Well, we're
gonna find some things out pretty quick, 'cause that Denver D looked good,
and looked real quick the other night in the controlled scrimmage.
But tonight its fullpads, a full contact football game. It is only preseason, but its really more than that for us this year - I still got a real bad taste in my mouth from that Clevland game at the end of last year.

yes in houston atleast. abc channel 13 here not sure about college station though.

I just moved from Corpus, and the Texans preseason games used to come on one of the big three (CBS, NBC, ABC) and UPN for some reason, I like to switch back and forth to see what the different announcers have to say. I really like to listen to the Official Radio broadcast when I can, I prefer them to the network TV guys anyday.

People in Corpus are just Cowboys crazy, it used to drive me nuts. :brickwall

i remember when houston didn't have a team for a few years and they actually played cowboy games on a major rock radio station. those damn traitors.

what really gets annoying is when the tv station (kiii) decides to bring training camp updates with the cowgirls during the 6 and 10 news.

channel 15 is the only station airing the preseason game on my tube. (with time warner)
