Three draft scenario's ... Which would you like best ?

A (No Trade)

As much as many of us would like to see Vince a Texan ....If the Texans stay put at #1 I think Bush is their guy ....like it or not. Scott would likely be the top rated OT left on the board (other possible picks would be D.Colledge , N.Mangold and Max Jean-Gilles)

1) Reggie Bush RB , USC
2) Jonathan Scott OT , UT
Two picks in the 3rd round , #'s 65 and 66

B (Trade down w/ Jets. recieve the #4 , #36 and next years first rounder in exchange for the #1 overall) approx pick values 3000/1800+540

I think a trade w/ the Jets is NOT very likely although desirable for the Texans to move down and take D-Brick (pending the Titans dont take him in which case Bush, Young or Mario Williams could be there . Manny Lawson could possibly go to Cleveland in round one but otherwise I think he would be there. T. Howard is the play-maker the Texans are missing in their front seven.

1) D'Brickashaw Ferguson OT , UVa.
2) Thomas Howard , LB , UTEP.
2) Manny Lawson , DE , NC St.
Two picks in the 3rd round , #'s 65 and 66.

C (Trade down w/ the Raiders . Recieve #7 , 39 , 71 and next years first rounder) approx pick values 3000/1500+510+235

1) Vernon Davis , TE , Md.
2) Thomas Howard LB , UTEP.
2) Jonathan Scott OT , UT
Three picks in the 3rd round , #'s 65 , 66 and 71.

The Raiders would be the most likely trade partner IMO .... with Bush , Leinart , Young , M. Williams , Hawk and D-Brick off the board Vernon Davis best athlete and most versatile player available . At 6'3" 253 with 4.38 speed he would be a complete nightmare to game-plan against .
Scott again is likely the highest rated OT left . (Other picks here could again be D.Colledge , N.Mangold and Max Jean-Gilles)

i really like this one.

This would be my top option:
Trade down to #4, add #36, and 2007 1st or 2nd rounder

#4 Mario Williams (DE, N.C. State)
#33 Nick Mangold (OC, Ohio St.)
#36 Johnathan Joseph (CB, South Carolina) or Bobby Carpenter (LB, Ohio St.)

pure fantasy, the Texans may very well end up taking D'Brickashaw 1st overall and move forward, unless teams want to dump salary (like Jets) they should stand pat & wait for Cutler, Leinart, Young or Bush to fall into their laps.

after reviewing all the LT prospects only D'Brick grades out to be the perfect fit for the Texans at least in my opinion. all the other prospects have negatives in one way or another & now with the commitment to Carr they must address the LT position with the best available no excuses.

in the second I like http://www.houstontexans.com/fan_zone/messageboards/showthread.php?t=19289 Tamba Hali, DE Penn State

same in the 3rd except the need to upgrade the line shifts inside to a OG, as I've mentioned already Kevin Boothe or Rob Sims, if Antonio Cromartie, CB Florida State was still there for our other 2nd this would be ideal.

I like these big trades y'all suggest I just don't see them happening

NONE OF THE ABOVE !

Trade with Saints.
Give: #1 and #67 Draft Value = 3265 pts
Get: #2, #34, & #98 Draft Value = 3268 pts

#2 Bush RB
#33 Winston OT
#34 Cromartie CB
#66 Edwards DE

2 first picks of 2nd day

Trade with tenn.

Give: #1 = 3000 pts

Get: #3, #39, #99, 2007 3rd round = 3004 pts

#3 D' Brickshaw OT
#33 Cromartie CB
#39 Hodge LB or DE
#66 Edwards DE or LB
#67 best TE

2 of first 3 day 2 picks and '07 3rd rounder

I like the 2nd one, but I think Lawson would go earlier. Plus, we're worried about strongside rushers and Lawson is more of a 3-4 OLB type. I think Victor Adeyanju/Ray Edwards would be more likely in the third round, but as long as we get D'Brick...
